Take It

There she sits
Looking as small as a child
A smile on her face
But a weight in her heart
She waits
Waits for him to notice
Waits for him to care
Waits for him to be there
Feelings have been kept inside
Locked away with a key
But the key has now
Resurfaced to her fingertips
Getting hurt more as she waits
Everyday getting closer
To unlocking her feelings
Knowing she’ll regret it
If she never tells him
Her courage is shaky
But then again so are
Her fingertips holding the key
Scared of the outcome
Good or bad she’s been waiting
Waiting for less hurt and more love
She’s waiting for him to notice
She’s waiting for him to care
She’s waiting for him to be there
Because with him
Is where she waits to be
All she has to do is
Take a chance.
