Words and Phrases
Well, here is another page
that has entirely nothing to do with your life. But you don't
care. You've already chosen to waste away a lot of your life
anyway just COMING to my webpage alone. By making it to this very
page, you have made a statement that you value your life no
higher than a lima bean. ...Or maybe you just wanted to read my
idiocrities so that you could have a few good laughs. That's just
as cool too. ...Sorta.
But anyway. Yes. This page
is all about the words and phrases that I use consistently...and
a few that I NEVER use...but it is all funny anyway.
- One phrase it seems
as if I am ALWAYS asked about is my ever-famous "Rock my
watch off".
Many people don't and may never fully understand. But
here I am, attempting to correct and explain it. Contrary
to the popular belief, I am not "racist"
against socks: I did not JUST take out the
"socks" in "rock my socks off". In
fact, it had nothing whatsoever to do with that. I was
with some guys from my school last year during a co-ed
volleyball tournament game. Everytime the team we were
cheering for would score, we would do the "rock
on" hand in the air and cheer real loud. One time,
after our team scored, I went up for the "rock
on" hand and my watch just detached at the band and
fell clean off. A guy (scolar Nathan Kinney) turned to me
and said, "James, you just rocked your watch
off." So from there I have carried on the memory for
Nate and I am just hooked on my awesome and original
saying. YOU ROCK, NATE!
- I was extremely
blessed to be able to travel with my church youth group
down to Harlingen, Texas, this spring break to do a
sports camp for the local kids. Anyway, all during the
trip, whenever my black friend Tony walked into a new
place, he would say "What's crackin'?" instead of the
typical and generic "what's up?" And he said it
so much that I began to catch on and say it as well. So
yah. I was really amused that I began to say it when it
was pointed out to me. So I have carried on the memory of
Tony once again. He is still awesome! ROCK ON, DUDE!
That's all for now. Be
sure to look for updates...or if you see me, tell me another
phrase you wish to have explained to you.
