ANNIVERSARY SONG Many years ago today we wed, Our love we pledged forever, "For better or for worse" we said, We would always be together. Many years ago today we wed, Two rings we gave in love "For richer or for poorer" we said In front of God above. Many years ago today we wed, Two hearts were joined as one "In sickness and in health" we said We would never be alone. Many years ago today we wed, Our love is still so true, "Do you take each other?" the preacher said, We both answered, "I do". Many years ago today we wed, It seems like only yesterday "'Til death us do part" we said, Which I hope God will delay. Many years ago today we wed, We gave each other our hearts "What God hath joined", the preacher said, "Let no one tear apart". It's been many years since we wed We've made each other stronger "Good luck, much happiness", everyone said, I pray we have 50 years longer. |
| I wrote this poem to my husband on our 10th wedding anniversary. Originally, the poem said "Ten years ago...." and then I changed it later to "Many years ago" so it could be used for any anniversary. |
