Myself

In the distance a train travels,
Its identity hidden by the midst of the unknown.
My spectating eyes draw nearer in anticipation,
Desiring for my life a more meaningful tone.

A herd of elk grazing to my left,
The moon and its brightness shining to my right.
Yet in the center travels a train
Its beckoning call grasping my sight.

I creep closer cutting through the suspense,
Each step making my path my clear.
As I envision the train in its infinite length,
My soul begins to hold a certain sense of fear.

Upon looking closer, a shadow I do see,
Intrigue now engulfing my curious mind.
Who is this one standing upon the train,
With hands held out, surely being ever kind?

I begin to look closer and I see a small scar,
Just below the breast of this innocent one.
It is familiar to me and provokes deep thought,
I have that scar! How has this been done?

Other aspects of this unexplained one,
Begin to reveal themselves for me to see.
What was this happening, what does this mean?
I stand here and realize,
this one is me!
