Maybe I could take your heart
show it tenderness
Hold you in my arms awhile
your face softly caress
Take you to a place
with no worries or the like
Hold you there forever
In ecstacys delight
Maybe I could take your heart
show it tender loving care
Hold it in my own sweet heart
she's longing for it to be there
Your days would be filled with happiness
laughter and tender kisses
Your nights never lonely
your head filled with my sweet wishes

3) How long have you been writing poetry?:
I've been writing poetry since about the age of 15.
4)What inspired you to first start writing?:
In Secondary School we had to write a piece of poetry about any subject, I chose suicide. From that first poem I found a way to express my inner most feelings without having to express them out loud and it was a way to escape into a world of my own.
5) Comments about this poem:
This poem was written about my husband, who I just adore and he doesn't show
his emotions very much, he had an abusive father and he just needs lots of
TLC and this one was for him.
6) Have you had any professional work or have had any poetry published?
I've not had any professional work but I have had two poems published recently in a book called "Australia's Best Poetry" and another two poems published
recently in a book titled "Voices On The Web". Both very proud moments for
me as it has only been the last couple of years that I have had the courage
to show my poetry to anyone including my family.
7) Other comments:
I would like to say thanks to all who voted for my poem and also want to say
that the forum is a wonderful, inspirational place for poets to be and I'm
glad I am a part of it ~HUGS~ Tracie........in poetry is power and in that
power we have the strength to move on.
