About The Author
1. Location:
Summerfield, FL
2. Age/Sex:
36/F
3. How long have you been writing poetry?
I was writing as long as I could spell.
4.What inspired you to first start writing poetry?
Like alot of kids born in the early 60's, time was hard
and money was short. My father died when I was 3, so my
mom had it harder with 3 kids ages 4, 3, & 1. I went
away to live with many different people, so writing was
my escape.
5. Would youlike to make any comments about your poem or Marvin?
Marvin was a wonderful friend. I met him about 17 years
ago. It was really spooky when I first met him because
he looked just like my dad, but my dad was dead. I went
to him and started talking with him and I told him how
much he reminded me of my dad. After my mom met him, she
told me how he sounded and walked like my dad. I thought
it was wonderful to have a second chance to meet my dad.
We became wonderful friends after that and he was like
a grandfather to my children. I wrote this poem for him
when he died and it was read at his funeral. He will be
and has been greatly missed.
6.Have you ever had any professional work or have had
any poetry published?
I have had 4 poems published by Poetry.com and put into
books.
Where?
Eternal Songs
7.Other comments:
Writing has always been a real passion to me. I share my
feelings and my life story through my writing. Someday I
would like to make a book with all of my work in it. It
should read like how my whole life story should read.
