He rode all day To the castle of GellEntered the castleT'was there a duel was declaredThe battle raged onDestruction and chaos everywhereEverlasting nightFor 3 years undoneOne fatal swingIt's victim off guardThe end of the reign of nightGone with each drop of bloodThe curse now liftedThe tension all goneThree years of nightNow shone in the sunThe knight now his prizeThe maiden of dreamsTo the knightThe fairest of thee
There once was a knightAs brave as brave could be Who rode through the nightTo find the fairest of theeHe rode to a cottageIn a far off landTo rest the nightAnd to calm his headThe maidens served him wineAnd bread to eatAnd drunkened the knightFor his midnight sleepIn the morning he awokeWoozie and full of dreadOf the conquering nightThe one of deadTo rescue the maidenThe fairest of theeTo conquer the evil nightThat held the key
