Prelude: Lupe's father was a Silent Strider who died before she was born while on a suicide mission against Black Spiral Dancers (undertaken to atone for his violation of the Litany).  Her mother was a Black Fury who secluded herself in a Mexican convent following her daughter's birth.  Lupe was raised by her father's Kinfolk in New Mexico, but left home at 17 to explore the world and discover her Garou heritage.  Over the course of five years of traveling, she saw and did almost everything--she lived on the streets of New York, played bass in a London punk band, explored the lost Bunyip tribe in Australia, and hitchhiked through Central and South America.  Lupe returned to her old stomping grounds in the American Southwest profoundly changed and much wiser, and she wanted to share her wealth of knowledge and experience with her fellow Garou.  But her "tainted" metis heritage meant that few would listen to her, and she began getting angrier and angrier at the elders who would dare to silence and revile her simply because of her parentage.  After incurring the wrath of a number of Bone Gnawer and Glass Walker elders after her ideas about the Litany went a little too far for their sensibilities, she spent the better part of a year hiding out in a circus sideshow based in the San Francisco area.  Lupe has always wanted to see and experience new things, but it wasn't until then that she learned to be careful what she wished for...

 

Description: Profoundly intelligent and creative, Lupe expresses her deep emotions and big ideas through poetry and music.  Those who can look past her metis heritage and unconventional appearance will discover that she is a superlative storyteller, a fine warrior, and a fiercely loyal packmate and friend.  Her wits are immediately obvious--she delights in sarcasm, wordplay, and the occasional practical joke.  But even more obvious is her incredibly bizarre deformity, which leads many people to pity, fear, or revile her upon their first encounter with her.  In the end, her outer façade of humor, sarcasm, and curiosity hides an inner self that feels lonely, rejected, hated, and incredibly angry at Garou society.  Her ultimate goal is to shake up the establishment as much as possible and make the world safe for metis everywhere.  And of course, the opportunity to kick some Wyrm tail along the way will always be greatly appreciated!

 

Appearance: Lupe's most obvious feature, of course, is the third eye in the middle of her forehead.  People notice it immediately, and when it doesn't cause them to run from her in horror, they are likely to react with hostility or trepidation.  It's a shame, really, because Lupe is quite pretty if you can look past that.  Her skin is the color of caramel, and her black hair is shiny and smooth.  Her eyes (all three of them) are big and brown, the kind you could drown in, and she has a lovely smile.  Unfortunately, there are not may people (human or Garou) who will ever notice it.

 

 

Lupe is one of my longest-standing characters; I've been playing her in one form or another since I began gaming.  Her curiosity and sardonic, dry humor make her great fun to play, and the third eye in the middle of her forehead has led to some interesting situations!  And yes, she's kicked her share of "Wyrm tail" with a considerable Black Spiral Dancer body count to her name, but what people remember her for is her romance with a Stargazer NPC and her strategic retreat from a mad scientist's lab.  (She squeezed through the bars of an electric fence to safety--it pays to have a character who's 5'3" and 103 pounds in homid form!)  For a long time Lupe was part of a close-knit pack, but since I'm not with that group at the moment her future is uncertain.  I hope to play her again soon!
