This is for Mother's Day This is for Mother's Every Day! The boo-boo kissers The carpool drivers The Kool Aid Moms The ones that clean up your puke The ones that clean up your puke and manage to smile the whole time The one who secretly checks your homework The one who secretly corrects your homework The one who sings herself to sleep in your room The one who makes the midnight run to the grocery store to buy the mix to make 35 cupcakes for the party that day that you forgot to tell her about The one who dresses you for church every Sunday And keeps you in her prayers every night The one who dries your tears and convinces you that Mommy kisses can fix anything And you believe her The one who cleans up your puke This one bears repeating The one who walks the floor wringing her hands in worry about you, praying with each step she takes The one who cries her silent tears for you at night The one who suffered death to give you life And would gladly exchange hers for yours The one that all too often we neglect or forget or take for granted...
To all the Mother's out there May it not always be a thankless job
