Inter Junior College Judo Tournament 2000-01

Inter Junior College Judo Tournament will be organised at Tolani College on 7th January, 2001.

Last years winner teams  - Tolani College and Ruia College is expected to place strong teams once again. But this year R. A. Podar College, Chetana College and  MVLU could make a great impact on results.

Last year's Snehal Divekar's (Ruia college) big win against Aruna Daryanani (R. A. Podar College) and Sonal Ghadge (Ruia College) in Open wt. ctg. made the whole difference and Ruia College clinched the championship in Girls section. This year Sonal is in Degree College and Aruna not playing because of knee injury, Snehal has great chance to march ahead and win 2 Gold medals but Championship might be difficult and lot of things will depend upon performance of players of other colleges.

Shambhavi Kulkarni (R. A. Podar college) might be the biggest surprise for Snehal and Ruia college from winning championship. Chanda Mhashilkar (Ruia college) if back in form could also be a surprise for all.

In Boys section Nikhil Kulkarni (Ruia college), Ketan Sawant (Chetana College) and Yusuf Rangoonwala (MVLU) will fight for title of Open wt ctg. and this will probably decide who wins the championship in Boys section.

So, lot of excitement and twist and turns at Inter Junior College Judo Tournament on 7th January, Sunday at Tolani college.
