About This Site

This page is specifically to address the rubric requirements for the about page.

Documentation of the Development Process
The intent and purpose behind this website was to meet the elements of a college course in which the scenario states that my uncle requested my help in developing a website for his small business. To that end I created this website for a Photography business. Along the way I used the final project rubric for the course to ensure the objectives have been met.

Defense of the Final Product
For the index or Home page I went with a basic look to give it a clean crisp feeling that wasn't overly busy for the end user and with contrasting colors that are easy to read. I like the top inline navigation it is simple easy to use and it seems popular among other sites as well lately. I used the css to provide and control the typography opting for sans-serif fonts.

This about pages pupoe is discussed in the paragraph above, I put it in a centered table a little morre than half the page width again I find it gives it a clean edged look. I used the contact page for my form example and to provide a touch of realism to the scenario, with examples of plain text fields, a drop down selector and a radio button selector. As well as a reset button. Since there is no backend to support the submit funtion I made the submit button a dummy button.

With the details page we have an example of the use of unordered lists and lists within a list as well as additional scenario specific content to further support the imersive experience in a profesional look and feel. The terms page like this about page is another table just over half width meant to give the scenario page a feel of realism. In addition the footer of each page contains a disclaimer that this site is not an actual business.

Opportunities for Improvement and Growth
If I had the backend ability and the knowledge I think the contact page could include an interactive calendar where prospective customers could make their own appointments right then and there. Given more time and access to photographs of people with their permission there could be a portfolio as well. In the future once this class concludes I will remove the site from the live host, so there will be no future updates.
