VLADIVOSTOK; in & around

Lying rather close to Alaska, and being typical russian, Vladivostok is a cold city with long winters. And although the harbour freezes and is unusable for a a few months every year, this harbour is Russia's warmest and therefore most useful harbour.
This guys thinks he's made it in cold Russia: after weeks of digging he has created Vladivostok's only outdoor swimming pool. Guess he'll be a bit disappointed if he finds out that summers do reach up to 30 degrees (celcius) and that the entire melted harbour is used as one big swimming pool....Looking on the upside; at least the digging has kept the poor fella warm in the freezing cold.
Some people believe that training their kids can't start early enough and be as professional as possible to enable their kids to achieve the very top of their sport.
This picture is therefore a bit worrying....So in the coming 3rd World War beware of Russia people.....be prepared...cuz they are!
And as on any harbourside port - pictures you'll get nice sunsets like these.
And there it is, one of the famed old steam locomotives that has pulled numberous trans siberian trains through Siberia. I've hopped onto a newer version of these, but I can assure you that the journey has been just as amazing as it must have been 100 years ago.
