A note to
the reader… Spiritual content of a biblical nature
will be present in everything I write, either implied or overtly. What is
inside me spills out. So, if you don’t want to read it, leave now.
Thanks. |

CHILDHOOD |
||||
|
When I was growing up, my
family was constantly dealing with one calamity or another. In other words,
we were typical. Life was busy, interesting, difficult, and full of love. I grew
up all over Did I experience enough pain
to make me question God? Yes! Undoubtedly, you have, too. What made the
difference? I was no fool. I knew that only He could bring me back out on the
other side with a genuine smile and joy in my heart. He hasn’t let me
down yet. |

ADULTHOOD |
||||
|
I grew up wanting my own
family. A mom, dad, kids, dog, etc. I wanted the typical experience shared by
people who walk outside without fear, don’t have to wonder where their
father and mother might be now, and who look happy all the time. I got it. I
got a husband who loves me and makes me smile, three kids who actually like
me, and even a dog. I don’t know how long
the ideal life I have will last, but I don’t take it for granted. I
soak up joy like people soak up sunlight. And I’m glad to be alive
right here, right now, to do what I do best – be me! |

MY
WRITING |
||||
|
I love to write. It’s like a drug. I enjoy the sound of
computer keys clicking, of pencil scratching paper, and of a pen softly
whooshing over the page. I love the process, the rereading, and I even love
designing from scratch each and every one of my pages, including the artwork.
My daughter helps me out there occasionally, too, and I
discuss most of my stories with my kids. Their input is a huge help to me,
since they have such amazing minds. I’m so proud of my kids! (smile) I love the Lord and want to honor him with my writing. (Well,
I warned you that I would be talking about my relationship with the Lord.) I am
a Christian and I have a huge love for God, and when my excess of personality
gets me in a jam, it’s God who gives me the strength to keep trusting
him. God has given me a love for people. I pray for them, talk to
them, and write for them. I enjoy sharing experiences even with the fictional
people in my stories. They become so real to me that I’m sometimes
tempted to think they really have existed, or may exist now. However, my
characters aren’t based on anybody I know, unless I say so. |

MY
FAITH |
||||
|
What do I believe? I believe that God sent his son, Jesus, to
die for me. Particularly for me, because I could never have lived a good or
happy life without his help. I believe that if I accept his forgiveness, he
will totally remove the stains from all the bad things I have done.
That’s called sin, and when I believe he will clean me out, he will. I believe that God loves me and has a plan for my life, so I
read the Bible, read Christian books, listen to Christian music, and surround
myself with godly influences. I try to show him I love him by being as good
as I can. However, I know that being good can’t make him love me any
more than he does already. Isn’t he a great God? |

THE
FUTURE |
||||
|
I am so grateful that I have a future. God is going to take me
with him to Heaven to live with him forever. Until then, however, I have to
learn to live on this earth. One of my coping mechanisms is reading and
writing, so I read lots of books and write lots of stuff. I have blogs,
websites, and I’m even trying my hand at poetry. Yes, it’s a
really amazing life. In the future, I hope to finish college, work on getting a
paid writing career, and get closer to the image of Christ. God loves me just
the way I am, but I want to honor him better by trying to look more like him.
Maybe then, I’ll make more people want to know what I have. (They ask
that all the time, but their fear is they’ll catch it. I kind of wish
they would want it to rub off on them.
~wink~ ) |
