Message from the President

Welcome and thank you for visiting our website.

In the last session 2000-2001 under Zolkifly Mohd the PMI Malaysia Chapter spent a fair amount of time planning and strategizing for our future.

In this session 2002-2003 we intend to act upon those plans but in a concerted fashion with all the stakeholders in mind. We refer to the Public as well as the Private sector - from BIOTECHNOLOGY to CONSTRUCTION, ENERGY and DEFENSE referred to as the verticals; and ICT, HUMAN CAPITAL and FINANCE as the horizontals - these are indeed the critical sectors of our national economy.

This can only be accomplished through a concerted effort by the Governing Council as well as our more active Ex-Officios and Senior Members. We wish to call on all those with a sense of pride in Project Management as their profession to spare a small fraction of their precious time to come forward and assist us in this worthwhile endeavor. Do give us your thoughts and ideas at the very least and I assure you that we value highly your input.

Our main task is to take the profession of PROJECT MANAGEMENT to the fore in assisting national development programs. As per the PMBOK (Guidelines to the Project Management Body of Knowledge), this must be done in a framework that accounts for our own unique context and processes complete with all its special cultural and psychological biases per the Malaysian business environment.

This is then our challenge - to apply the philosophy and principles of Project Management customized to such a degree that it fits our special local needs in Malaysia.

The key result to be achieved is an expansion of our membership base in the identified key sectors of the National Economy.

That is our Mission and Vision for 2002-2003!

Remember the maxim that FAILING TO PLAN IS TO PLAN TO FAIL and therefore we must accomplish our tasks in a well thought out manner in keeping with our profession. Join us for our brainstorming sessions as we aim to accomplish our goals.

We thank you in advance for your kind support of our plans.
