            REVIEW CREW
     Game of the week:
WEEK 1 : BattleQuest(cybikodev.com)
WEEK 2 : CyBlaMario (cybla.com)

     The results are in! The winner for Week 1 was clear: Battle Quest! I picked Battle Quest because it wa a simple, addicting RPG (role-playing game), with a terrificly simple battle system.
     The goal of the game is simple: Battle many ugly enemies in order to defeat the boss (which I have yet to accomplish) and become the toughest man in the medieval world.
     The battle system in this game is really simple: It has three options if you run into a battle: Attack, Use Item, and Flee. Simple but addicting. Pressing attack makes your character use his weapon on the enemy, hurting it for x amount of damage. Pressing Use Item brings you into a sub-menu, which has a list of objects you can use in battle. It has things such as healing potions and bombs, each with its own potency. Last but not least, if you press Flee, you will try and get out of battle. This doesn't work all of the time, and could get you hurt!
     The Battle system is turn-based. Reminds me of such RPGs as Final Fantasy. That's probably why it is such a great game. There are also limitless ways to improve your character. You can buy anything, from a simple dagger to a sunsword (a sword on fire-most powerful weapon in the game). Or you could buy a wooden shield. Of course, you could get the super-exspensive Death Shield (most defensive shield in the game). It's up to you how you spend your money, which you gain everytime you defeat an enemy.
     Your charcter starts out at level 1 with very low attack and defense. You also have only a wooden stick to fight with, and cheap clothing to protect you from attack. As you walk around, battles will randomly occur, pitting you against a random enemy. Sometimes you run into an enemy every step. Other times you run into an enemy almost never. It depends on the time of day in real life! An no-you don't capture the creatures (thank God!), but rather you gain experience as you defeat them. If you get to another level because of enough experience gained, some things happen: you gain health, defense, attack, and get this: THE ENEMIES GET TOUGHER!!! In order to cope with this, you need to spend your money on better weapons and clothes/armor/shields.
     This game also has a feature unique to it: the enemies have a cunning attitude. Depending on how much damage you caused, the enemy could say the following:  "Don't play with that," "Damnit Beavis!" or "Damn the man!" and over (at least) 30 more! No joke!
     Another cool fact: there are tons of secrets! Heck, there is a secret building that gives you secret weapons. Once you get there you will be unstoppable. You will be literally invincible if you reach level 8 or higher with a sunsword, Death Shield, and the heavy pair of armor. All three are found only in the secret buildings.
     As you venture around the world, there are towns along the way, which are totally rid of creatures. This is where you can buy things to improve your character and restore your health.
     I'd give Battle Quest this:

     For Week 2, it wasn't such an easy choice. I had to choose between CyZelda Demo 2 and CyBlaMario Demo (1-1--1-3). But, in the end, Mario won, because of these reasons...
     ...First off, we all love Mario. The gameplay is extremely addictive, yet simple at the same time. The plot is one we all are familiar with - save the princess from the mean dinosaur (or whatever he is) Bowser. This is the main reason why CyBlaMario got it's rating: there are just too many re-makes of the same title out there, which took away from the overall experience. Although it only has levels 1-3 in world one, and it plays those levels over and over, it is still as fun as ever. The control is as perfect as ever on the Classic version.
     What more do I have to say? The game has great music and the familiar story, so there is nothing more to say, which is why I must give CyBlaMario:
   OVERALL RATINGS : 9.0 9.0 9.0

+++++++A GOLD RATING!++++++++
