Poeta y Pintor ingl�s de origen italiano. Nace en Londres y muere en Berchington (Kent); sus nombres de pila eran Gabriel Charles; fundi� el misticismo con la belleza pagana; con Hunt, Millais y otros, fundo la 'Hermandad prerrafaelista' y con ella, el prerrafaelismo.

En 1862 se cas� con la modelo Elizabeth Siddal, que muri� tuberculosa dos a�os despu�s, el dolor que ello le produjo le motiv� una gran depresi�n e insomnios, y el abuso de hipn�ticos para corregirlos llegaron a causarle trastornos mentales.
