Honoring Our
Mothers
Josephine Ready - "Gypsy Jo"
1916 - 2004
Mother of Queen Mum Pat
A gentle soul who lived for her children and grandchildren,  loved to travel, lived her faith.  She would've loved seeing me in my Red Hat regalia!
Betty June Sawyer
Mother of Pandora Deichert

Ive always known Mother to be strong and determined, and Ill bet she learned that determination living with four brothers when she was young!  My childhood was filled with her wonderful humor, creative flair and imaginative style.  She turned cardboard appliance boxes into playhouses, and a fallen tree in the forest became a stallion to ride.  She still carries that magic, that love, that happiness with her today.
Genevieve Nicholson - "Gen"
1911 - 2005
Mother of Nan Wood

She never looked or acted her age.  She worked  crossword  &  jigsaw puzzles all the time. She watched the news on TV & was always up on current events. Mother had a great sense of humor. Fortunately she wasnt sick much, just 4 days in the hospital before she died of pneumonia. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Stella Anderson
Mother of Patti Carpenter
Lompoc, CA

My mom was born in Fullerton CA in 1925, the oldest of seven kids - 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Married at the age of 14,  she
had 5 children by age 22.  She now has 14 grandchildren,
13 great-grandchildren and
9 great-great-grandchilden (at last count).  She has lived
in Lompoc CA for 40+ years.  This year on her 80th birthday she had all 5 of  her children with her, first time in over 54 years.  No one leaves town
(Lompoc) without stopping by her place for her blessings, nor do you hang up after
talking with her over the phone without getting her blessings.  She is the oldest and the
head of our clan.
Mildred Ruth Dotson
1925 - 2005
Mother of Duchess
Doodle de Do

This is my favorite picture of my mother. She was neither too old nor too young! Mom belonged to her local Jolly Elders and was constantly on the go with them.  She definitely would have enjoyed being a Red Hatter!
Mom used to make afghans to give as wedding/birthday gifts.  She moved here from Midland, Michigan in 1999.   Memories:  I'm an only child so mom always made sure that we had family gatherings for Christmas (my dad was a quiet man).  In the summer she and I would travel to Chicago to visit relatives.  I remember those trips and what fun we had together.
She was and still is a caring mother.
