Books
The best movies began as books (of course, the exception is Rattle and Hum), my favourite stories are ones I've read.... the best information comes from books.
As shocking as it may sound, I do enjoy books more than television. I swear!!
Books
There are many books in this world. However, I do have definite favourites.
- #1 'The House that Sailed Away' by Pat Hutchins
A stunning book, gripping and well written with an excellent plot. Don't miss it!
- #2 'Horrible Histories' by Terry Deary
This is a series of books, each book covering the history of a country or a certain period in time eg. the Middle Ages. They may sound boring... BUT(!!!) they are actually really interesting and enjoyable.
- #3 The 'Harry Potter' series by J. K. Rowling
All of the books are brilliant, and the writing's wonderful.
- #4 'The Virgin Suicides' by Jeffery Eugenides
This is one of the best books I have read in ages. It is a wonderful story and is really hard to put down.
- #5 'Longitude' by Dava Sobel
I didn't believe non-fiction could actually be gripping until I read this book. EVERYONE MUST READ THIS.
Stephen King books
He's written so many good books I think he's worthy of his own category.
- #1st= The Shining
This is SUCH a good book. Read it. (The film's great, too)
- #1st= IT
This book is really long, but at no point is it boring. It is wonderfully written, so that the story slowly unravels, and each new chapter reveals a new fact which may not be explained until a few chapters on. Stephen King is such a good author he manages to turn a story about a clown-monster into a REALLY AWESOME book. Read it.
- #2 The Green Mile
I love this book so much. Even without the wonderful writing, it would still be an amazing story.
- #3 The 'Dark Tower' series
This is a weird, weird series of books, but they are SO good. These are the only fantasy books I have ever read AND enjoyed.
- #4 Carrie
This was Stephen King's first book, but it is as good as any of his others. It is quite short compared to many of his other books, but he still manages to tell a great story. Oooh, and the movie is great, too.
- #5 Misery
Oooh, this is a gross book. (She cuts off his leg...!) But it is good... and apparently there's a movie!
