| The Drouwned Bug ploy: Try using your favorite dry fly with the normal casting method, but about half way down the end of your drift by a log or over a hole. Give the fly a twitch and let it sink. The floating line will keep it off the bottom and helps control the sink rate better than sinking line normally used for steamers and wet flies. The dry fly should sink slowly and look natural. Its great when working the small streams when wet flies snag too much. Keep an eye on the line and hang on.. |
