| Food Sources Deer love acrons. Look for areas where there is lots of oak trees. White oaks are the best, but they like water oaks, and red oaks too. They also will eat Hickory nuts. They like Red Clover, persimmons wheat, and crab apples. Any farmer next to a forest with deer in it will tell you that they also love various types of beans and corn. They'll sometimes eat barries during the summer and Poison Ivy if they have to. |
| When do they move? Deer tend to move more during the day of the Full moon and the New moon (dark moon) or a moon that shows during the day. The best time to hunt then is early morning and late evenings. They move a lot just before and after a weather change. They seem to be getting ready for the weather by filling up on food and then bed up when the weather gets bad. High wind will keep them down for lots of reasons. They stay nervous because of the rustling of the leaves, shifting wind currents, and trying to stay warm to conserve energy. During long periods of rainy, cold, snowy, or warm spells they will start move as they always do to look for food and each other |
