Mar. 16th 2005: The votes have been counted! Encumbent running mates N.W. Samuelson and Jack Handsom have retained their positions as Co-Dictators.
We Congradulate all those who won their positions and give those who lost a hearty slap on the back and a "buck up chum". There is a new link for news from last year and a photo ambum from the vote count is coming soon.
Jan. 31st 2005: Ok, so the election is over. The most important part however is making sure every vote is accounted for. To make sure this is a speedy and effective process all parties from both sides are getting together this weekend possibly friday or saturday, details are still sketchy. Jan. 13th 2005: Recently we recieved a message from "The Yellow Dart" he had some interesting comments. The message was as follows:
"...I believe you need a few more postions because, come on, six people can't rule a nation. What about Undersecretary of Underpants? Prime minister in charge of Cake? Someone to over see education, because the children are our future? I nominate myself for all three. I The Yellow Dart promise to do my best, bring in lots of funding and never come in later than two in the afternoon. Or three."
The first thing is the comment on the amount of people running the nation. As of now we are still striving for independance and do not controll many aspects of our own contry therefore postions like Education and Cake are not needed as of yet. We are adding positions whenever the need arises. When a new position is deemed nessesary, the first official is appointed to that office till the next election. However, it has come to our attention that an Undersecretary of Underpants will be needed very shortly. We here by send out an open invitation to "The Yellow Dart" to join our cause as our Undersecretary of Underpants. Where are you Yellow Dart?

Nov. 10th 2004: As everyone probably knows, the U.S. presidential election is over and the incumbent president George W. Bush retained his seat. This is good news for the P.F.L.O.P. We won't have to worry about a watchful leader stoping our movement for freedom. Plus it also gives me an idea. We are going to have elections for the P.F.L.O.P. There will hopefull be a ballot page soon were everyone can vote.
Nov. 4th 2004: Assistant Dictators for Life N.W. Samuelson and Jack Handsome have appointed Giovanni Carminelli to the Director of the Portage International Secret Service position. We expect he will clean up the P.I.S.S. which has been making a mess of things lately.
Oct. 25th 2004: With the upcoming presidential election coming up the P.F.L.O.P. would like to officially support George W. Bush for president. After much deliberation as to what would benefit the Portage cause more we decided that the president's current lack of interest in our plight is just what we need to take the world by surprise especially with every available soldier overseas. This was deemed a better advantage than John F. Kerry's pussy footing. Also we feel that Kerry might have spent to much time in the Portage area and knows what is going on.
So on November 2nd everyone for the liberation of Portage and the downfall of America Vote Bush.
Oct. 11th 2004: You may have been wondering what has happened in Portage and why I haven't updated in seven months. Well the reason is simple: Terrorism! Apparently certain factions of the P.F.L.O.P. have decided to take extreme measures to regain the independence of Portage. Revolutionaries Jack Handsome and N.W. Samuelson have been fighting tooth and nail to prevent Cessna aircraft from flying into the Kent State Library, the biggest building in Portage. Let the extremists know that this is not the answer!
In other news Surgeon General appointee Ryan Sandor has begun training in pharmacueticals at the University of Toledo in the U.S.A.

Mar. 30th 2004: The official language of Portage was decided today. The new language called "Pfonics" is similar to English in most respects except for a few differences. The differences include:
The "ph" sound in the English language is now the "pf" sound, it sounds the same but looks different, the "ugh" sound as used in words like cough and laugh will also be changed to the new "pf" sound.
Also under consideration is giving the "sh" and "ch" sounds their own characters. In other news, The Peoples Liberation Front Of Portage is officially changing its name to People For the Liberation Of Portage. For now, the web page address will stay the same but the title on the page has changed.
Mar. 10th 2004: Plans are still in the discussion phase for conquest of territory to annex for our nation. Plans include the annexation of Mogadore, Hartville, and possible parts of Trumball county.
Mar. 3rd 2004: Just wanted to let everyone know that fellow compatriot Jack Handsome has made a full recovery and is joining me and other revolutionaries today to discuss the future plans of Portage conquest..
Feb. 26th 2004: IMPORTANT MESSAGE! To all those who have not yet heard, this morning when walking near the Kent State MAC Center a body was found barely alive. Turns out it was Portagian extremeist Jack Handsome. Apparently after the ESPN Kent/Creighton game Handsome was fooled into a trap were he was brutally beaten by United States supporters from Creighton. Handsome, who was taken immediately to the hospital, is expected to make a full recovery.
Feb. 23rd 2004: The PLFOP would first like to congratulate Kent State on their win over Creighton on Saturday. Now having said that I can turn my attention to the important matter at hand, the suppresion of Portagian peaceful protests. The PLFOP had organized on Saturday to bring a large array of signs, plus some of our more faithful had painted their bodies with phrases like "Free Portage" and "Remember Murphy". Unfortunately when arriving at the game we were met by the current Kent Police force. What traitors! Do they not realize what we are sacrificing for their good too? All of the protesting materials were confiscated and thrown away. When will the suppression of our people come to an end?
Feb. 19th 2004: The PLFOP would like to bring attention to the fact that it's premier institution of learning, Kent State University, is hosting an American nationally viewed basketball game against the University of Creighton. In an effort to gain national support for our efforts we will be attending the game with a sign to wave at the camera. So look for us Saturday at noon on ESPN2.

Feb. 11th 2004: Today a session was held between Assistant Dictators For Life: N.W. Samuelson and Jack Handsome. Also attending was District Representative Polly Pickerson. The session was held to discuss the future township territory boundaries. The new boundary proposal can be seen in the maps section. Also discussed were the plans and location for future monuments.
