| Less Than Jake
8/30/00 When I heard that Less Than Jake was coming to town, I clipped my toenails with excitement. Being 18, I knew I would be able to see the show. I didn't act on getting tickets until the day before, when it was sold out. I was lucky to find someone selling tickets that they didn't need. The show started at 7:00 with a band I had never heard of named Pollen. I was impressed by their music and performance so I bought their CD from the merch stand. The melodic, punk rock quartet then left the stage to make room for a trio of true punk rockers, One Man Army. Seeing them at Warped tour, I knew what to expect. They put on a much better show this time around. Suicide Machines took the stage and rocked the place for seemingly ever. Then Less Than Jake was on. They played about 25 songs, a few of the ones from their upcoming album (Oct. 24). They were unbelievable. The vocals, horn section, guitars, and drums were all on. The jokes were funny. Great show. All the preceding bands built up perfectly to LTJ. |
