When Plexy formed after the winter of 1999, they were stationed in the basement of the drummer, Martin Livezey. It was just a jam session. There were two guitar players and a drummer, no bass. It didn't take long to convert Adam Fullerton to the bass player. He became excited and started learning Blink licks on his borrowed bass. Chad Vickery stayed on guitar and Livezey still wacked his drums while his eyes rolled back into his head. The next day in school the guys began discussing names for the newly formed band. After mixing the poser perfect Hurley brand with perplexed, a word that really has no meaning, Plexy was the outcome. Originally the band was called Plexy 7 but the seven was dropped as it served no purpose whatsoever.
So the band started. And they shortly started rehearsing at Chad's house in the room above his garage. From there the band recorded their first single that resulted in the modern misconception of what Plexy really is. "Bugs" was a song written as it was recorded and it was a devastation for the already suffering reputation of the band. This thoughtless song about eating bugs was a flop. So the band started writing material.
The move to Adam's garage over the summer of 2000 was beneficial toward the image of the band. It felt punk. There many of Plexy's hit were constructed. "The School Play", "What's Up", and "At" were all perfected in this garage. When fall rolled around, the band moved to it's current location in Chad's basement. They have played a battle of the bands, and one second place, and have played a birthday party. The lack of gig exposure makes the band relatively underground but when the big break comes, they are ready. Peace.
