| Home Grown @ The Intersection
10/27/00 Capturing the scene of California surfers and ska punks, Home Grown made an appearance at the Intersection on a Thursday Night. I reserved tickets which was unnecessary, there were only 40 people there. This was sad to me, because such a great band needs to be shown support, of course, Grand Rapids isn't into the punk scene much. Anyway, Limbeck and Diffuser were good openers, more on the Emo side but we all love Emo. When Home Grown finally played around 11:30, I was blown away. They are extremely together and sound excellent live, even with the loss of a guitarist. At first a few vocal harmonies were out of tune but once they got warmed up everything sounded great. They had no setlist. They went by suggestion from the crowd. They cracked jokes and were having a great time playing. The drummer was amazing and he was having a lot of fun. Great show. |
