Goldfinger: Stomping Ground
Released 3-28-00
Mojo Records

I was so excited to hear that Goldfinger was releasing another album. Once again, Goldfinger rocks it, real hard. From the first song, I knew I was in for days and weeks of Punk Rock Delight. By the time I had made it to the fourth track, I was sure the CD couldn't get any better. My favorite track, "The End of the Day", is what I like to call a punk rock anthem. It starts out with acoustic guitar and lead singer John Feldmann. John, with his "in your face", spitting vocals, always seems to end  his phrases with a sharp "ah!" and an aggressive fall off every note. The anthem, at the end, breaks into a driving chorus of, "It's alright with me, I don't care if it's not alright with you". Your heart is pounding by the end of the song.

Fluent throughout the CD is Goldfinger's characteristic ska riffs and reggae bass. Other highlights include, "Counting the Days" in which the whole band sings the punk rock tradition, "1 2 3 4!" as a chorus. The only track on the album that does not stick to the heart is "Bro". Although the heavy metal guitar and screaming vocals is cool at first, it turns out to be an earache.

This CD is one that must be added to your collection.
