Ubi Soft revealed this morning that it plans to bring its ultra popular Xbox game Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell to other platforms besides the PC - namely the PlayStation 2, GameCube and Game Boy Advance. All three platforms will see a spring 2003 release. Ubi Soft says that phenomenal sales in the United States and Europe, high ratings and numerous Game of the Year awards made the decision to bring the game to multiple platforms a no-brainer. Splinter Cell for the Xbox has sold 1 million units in North America and 600, 000 units in Europe. The game has also garnered an average score of 94.4 (out of 100) based on a sample of 54 reviews. Most recently Splinter Cell for the Xbox was named GameSpy's 2002 Game of the Year. The release of the PC Demo and anticipation for the game's release on the PC later this year were also factors in bringing the game to other platforms. Details on what each particular version of the game will offer in terms of gameplay were not revealed, but we'll keep you posted as we learn more.
