- A Man With No Existence -
The Butch Match: Vengeance Factor
Ever since the last Overdraft youve been hearing the same question over and over again: What is a Butch Match?. There are only few in the World Wrestling Corporation that know what this gimmick match is and what its about. People like Bronx, Devilz Darkside, Potter, and Jiraiya. The same men that came from the gfwa OMEGA; where the first ever Butch Match took place. They know how brutal and destructive this match can be because they witnessed it. They watched The Butcher and Frostie destroy each other in a match which nearly took The Butchers life. Do you want to know how out of control that match was? Go back to the gfwa OMEGA archives and look for itor just click [ HERE ].
Before the details of the match rules are told to you, lets first have a little history lesson. Yes, I know, history is boring and most of you will probably skip most of this part, but for those of you that take the time to read it, youll fully understand the reasoning of the match itself and why The Butcher and Frostie do not care for each other that much. It just may make the second match have more meaning than the first.
Just a little over one year ago, the gfwa OMEGA opened its doors to be the last will and testament of two great wrestling promotions: the Global Fantasy Wrestling Alliance and the Omega Wrestling Alliance. The Butcher was a legend of the GFWA and the president of the gfwa OMEGA, Max Danger, wanted him to become the Commissioner of his newly opened promotion. The Butcher agreed, almost without thought, and now he was back into the wrestling business.
The Butchers first order of business was to sign some hot fresh new talent because most of his colleagues had since retired or sought employment elsewhere. One of the first men he recruited was a young man named Lance Winters, also known as Frostie. Frostie had worked with The Butcher a few times before when he was one half of The Golddiggers in the defunct GFWA. Frostie was pretty bad back then and his stay in the GFWA wasnt long. But The Butcher saw some promise in the young man so he worked with him for a few months to help Frostie become a better wrestler. Before he knew it, The Butcher had helped create a solid top prospect in the world of professional wrestling.
Things went well for Frostie in the gfwa OMEGA but he wasnt rising in the rankings as quickly as he had hoped. And then he became frustrated with some cheap loses to people he shouldnt have lost to. This drove him to the edge. For months he worked his tail off to become a better but then took it easy once he got a contract. That was his downfall.
He never gave up on his dream of becoming the GHC Champion but he was never going to realize it the way things were going. So instead of him noticing that his work ethic was the problem, he made The Butcher the scapegoat for his fallout. He envied The Butcher and all that he had accomplished in the business. He envied his will to fight for over 20 years to win a World Championship. He envied the fact that The Butcher had turned his screwed up life into something. He envied the fact that The Butcher found the love of his life, Nikki Sizzio, and was happy because it appeared everything was going his way. So Frostie dumped The Butchers guidance and went out on his own.
Frostie mentally fell apart but that seemed to make him more fierce and harder to beat. Soon enough, near the end of 2001, Frostie defeated Payne at WAR: Wrestling & Romance to become the new GHC Champion. Most believed Frostie could never do it and labeled him a weak champion before he could even get started. This drove him even farther to the edge, and he became even harder to beat.
Meanwhile, The Butcher had found something new to take up his time once Frostie got rid of him. He wanted to create a match that was more hardcore and extreme than the Extreme Legend himself. A match that wouldnt take years off a career like Hell in a Cell, but a match that would take your life if you werent careful. He bought an abandoned building in New York City and went to work to create a real life model of the ring. He told Nikki what he was doing but wouldnt reveal it to her until he had finished it. For months he put together drawings and models until he had created just the right one. The Butch Match: [ Click Here for Drawing ]
The ring itself isnt an ordinary wrestling ring. Three sides have the ropes replaced with barbed wire ropes and the fourth side is regular ropes for easy entrance and exit, not to mention still being able to Irish whip your opponent to them. The three sides with the barbed wire ropes have pits beyond the ring so if you fall out or get thrown out on those sides youll get hurt very badly. One pit is full of bundles of barbed wire, another has bundles of razor wire, and the third one has a hidden danger to it. In the first Butch Match, that third pit had piranhas in it. On the outside walls of the three pits there are various weapons to use to beat your opponent to a bloody pulp. The rules? Quite simple actually. No disqualifications. No count outs. No time limit. You can only win by pinning your opponent, making them submit, or by knocking them out. The Butch Match is all about survival and who wants it more.
The Butcher showed Nikki and his friends his creation and they thought he was crazy. He didnt care though, he created it and liked it. Nikki knew that he created it for a reason and the only reason was for him to compete in it. She didnt like the idea at all but didnt fear him competing in it because he was retired. Then Frostie showed up back in their lives.
He was dominating the gfwa OMEGA with his title and was having fun with it. He even followed in The Butchers footsteps by mentoring a young wrestler named Tarantula. But then Tarantula died and that made Frostie clinically insane. He blamed The Butcher once again, even though he had nothing to do with it. Frosties world had been turned upside down because of the death and he knew he had to make The Butcher feel the same pain. He would harass Nikki whenever he had the chance. He would harass her with his words and then tried to harass her sexually as well.
Why? Because he wanted to drive The Butcher mad. He wanted The Butcher to fight him so he could avenge Tarantulas death. Finally The Butcher had enough and called Frostie out to the deadly Butch Match. Frostie eagerly accepted and the match was set. The next week they went at it and proved that the Butch Match was one of the most brutal matches ever designed. Frostie proved to be much more disturbing as everyone thought. He beat The Butcher to a bloody pulp and then locked him into the deadly Frost-Byte, Frosties own version of the Crippler Cross-face. The move that had beaten many before. The same move that had beaten Payne for the title. Now that move was locked onto The Butcher.
He wouldnt give in though. He wouldnt submit to the excruciating pain. The move had broken The Butchers arm and collarbone but he still wouldnt give it up. Frostie pulled The Butcher back, making his spine form a U shape, trying to paralyze The Butcher and end his career. He still wouldnt submit. Instead, he passed out from the pain, ending the match. Frostie had taken The Butcher out and put him in a deep coma, so deep, many believed he was dead. But he wasnt dead. He was very much alive. Contemplating how hed get back at Frostie in his mind while his body recovered from the trauma.
That match took place February 2, 2002 and there has never been a Butch Match since. Why? Because in the first one ever it nearly took a mans life. It was a match a match of all matches. A match that was supposed to end some of the most heated rivalries in the business. But The Butcher never expected it to throw more fuel into the fire. The Butcher versus Frostie feud never ended like it was supposed to that night. No, instead the feud has continued on in the World Wrestling Corporation. Halloween Hangover will supply the second Butch Match ever but dont expect the feud to end this time either. Its only beginning.
-[ Again we open up the scene at Park Ridge General Hospital where The Butcher is going to pick-up Nikki and bring her back home. After over a week in the hospital, following FroZtie disturbing attack, she is ready to go home. While she was busy recuperating, The Butcher returned to San Francisco to move all of her stuff out of Codys house and into an apartment he rented downtown. He doesnt necessarily like the idea of staying in San Francisco because his home has always been in New York City. But he is willing to live in San Fran for the next couple of months while Nikki recovers and continues to be a photographer for the San Francisco Gazette. In the mean time, The Butcher, Cody, and Tomorrow Man have begun the healing process of their own. It will take some time before things go back to normal for the three, but theyve all been taking it day by day. Cody has taken the tragedy of his sons death very hard and Tomorrow Man has taken the most time to make sure his former tag team partner will be all right. Only time will tell if he will be. ]-
-[ All three have arrived at the hospital after going out to lunch. Each has some sort of outside food in their light jackets to sneak into Nikkis room for her to have. It doesnt matter where you are in the country, hospital food still sucks. As the three exit the elevator with some doctors and nurses, they can see from down the hall that a couple nurses are pushing Nikki back into her room from a bed. The doctor remains outside of the room with her chart and is writing something down in it. As the three approach, the doctor finishes his writing and places the chart back in the envelope thats screwed onto the wall. ]-
The Butcher: Whats going on?
Doctor: Ah, yes, I was waiting for you to show up. Im afraid Miss Sizzio wont be leaving the hospital today.
The Butcher: Why not?
Doctor: What relation do you have to her exactly?
The Butcher: What do you mean, what relation do I have to her? Im a good friend of hers.
Doctor: Exactly. You arent direct family or have any closer relationship with her besides a friend. Lawfully I cant disclose any medical information with you without her consent.
-[ Cody breaks in. ]-
Cody: Im the boyfriend. Tell me.
-[ The Butcher looks at Cody, almost pissed that he said that, but understands that Cody didnt intentionally try to piss him off. He just wants to keep an unpleasant scene from starting. ]-
Tomorrow Man: Come on, Jimmy. Lets let the doctor and him talk. Well hear about it later.
The Butcher: Sure.
-[ The Butcher shoots the doctor the evil eye and Tomorrow Man leads him down the hall a little so Cody and the doctor can talk privately. ]-
The Butcher: Do you believe this? We show up every damn day and now I cant know whats wrong with her because Im not related to her!
Tomorrow Man: Shhyou want the best care for her, right?
The Butcher: Yeah?
Tomorrow Man: Well dont piss off the doctor.
The Butcher: Yeah, I know. I just want to know whats going on is all. I dont like the fact that Cody knows before I do.
Tomorrow Man: I get ya, man. Its a weird situation. Just stick with me for a minute and youll know whats going on.
The Butcher: Im just worried. She shouldnt be here this long. And when shes about to leave she cant.
Tomorrow Man: Yeah I know. But the doctor and Cody seem to be done. Lets go find out whats up.
-[ Tomorrow Mans right. The doctor and Cody have stopped talking and the doctor is walking their way. As he walks by he looks at The Butcher. ]-
Doctor: Good day.
-[ He then smirks and continues on walking by. Tomorrow Man and The Butcher begin to walk towards Cody and the room. ]-
The Butcher: He just had to say it, didnt he?
Tomorrow Man: Of course he did. Hes a prick.
-[ The Butcher and Tomorrow Man stop at Cody. He looks concerned and looks The Butcher in the eye. ]-
The Butcher: What did Doctor Prick say?
Cody: Go talk to her, man.
-[ The Butcher doesnt like Codys reaction and that makes him more uptight. He just nods and reaches for the door handle. As he goes to walk in, Cody grabs him by the shoulder. The Butcher looks back. ]-
Cody: Good luck.
-[ Cody then lets him go and walks away with Tomorrow Man slowly. The Butcher thinks to himself Good luck? What the hell? and walks into Nikkis room. There he finds her wide awake lying in bed, sadly flipping through the channels. ]-
The Butcher: Hi, honey.
Nikki: Hi there, babe.
-[ She then turns off the television as The Butcher grabs the only chair in the room and sets it near her bed. He then sits down. ]-
The Butcher: How are you feeling?
Nikki: I cant leave today.
The Butcher: I know.
-[ He then takes her right hand and starts to rub it. ]-
The Butcher: Why cant you leave, honey? The doctor wouldnt tell me.
-[ A small tear starts to build up in her left eye and then runs down her face. ]-
Nikki: UmI started bleeding again today.
The Butcher: Is that why they wheeled you back in her a couple of minutes ago?
Nikki: NoI was bleeding earlier. Theyumfixed that.
The Butcher: So youre going to be ok?
Nikki: They just ran a few tests
-[ Nikki stops and starts to cry some more. ]-
The Butcher: What is it? You can tell me, honey.
Nikki: They fixed the bleeding for nowbut found more damage.
The Butcher: What did they find?
Nikki: My fallopian tubes have been damaged and they cant be fixed! I cant have kids anymore, Jimmy!
-[ She leans over, hugs The Butcher, and starts to sob on his shoulder. ]-
Nikki: Now youre going to leave me
-[ The Butcher hugs her back and starts to rub her back to comfort her but it does little good. ]-
The Butcher: What makes you say that?
Nikki: Because I cant have children now.
-[ The Butcher carefully pushes her away and looks her in the eye. He then wipes some of her tears away. ]-
The Butcher: Im not going to leave you, Nikki. I didnt leave you before, Im not going to leave you now, and Ill never leave you. I want you just the way you are, no ifs, ands, or buts. Well work through this. I didnt even really want to have kids.
Nikki: But I did
-[ What she just said kind of strikes a nerve within The Butcher. They never really openly talked about having children and she never came out and said she did. But now that the decision has been made for them, that irks The Butcher greatly. FroZtie just keeps taking more and more, doesnt he? ]-
The Butcher: Well figure it out, Nikki. I promise.
Nikki: I know.
-[ The Butcher reaches for the box of Kleenex thats on the table next to the bed. He offers Nikki some and she takes a couple. As she wipes her eyes, The Butcher puts the box back on the table and attempts to change the subject a little. ]-
The Butcher: So whens the surgery?
Nikki: I think the doctor said Sunday at 8 PM.
The Butcher: Damn, thats when Ive got to be at Halloween Hangover. Ill ask Daz to postpone the match so I can be here for you.
Nikki: No! Dont do that. I know this match is important to you even if I dont totally agree with it.
The Butcher: But youre more important to me than some match.
Nikki: I know but I want you to go. Youll probably just sit in the waiting room all night and not be able to see me after anyway.
The Butcher: Are you sure?
Nikki: Positive. Just dont get killed out there, ok? I dont know what Id do if I lost you for real this time.
The Butcher: Dont worry about it. Ill come back to you no matter what.
-[ He then kisses her. ]-
Nikki: I needed that.
The Butcher: This will all be over soon, Nikki. Then we can go back to living normal lives.
Nikki: Nothings normal when youre around.
-[ Nikki smiles and The Butcher smiles back. ]-
The Butcher: Hey now, Im a victim of circumstance!
Nikki: I know, and thats why I love you.
-[ Then there is a knock at the door. In walks the nurse with a large bouquet of flowers. She sets them on the extra table in the room. ]-
Nikki: Jimmy, you shouldnt have!
The Butcher: Actually, I wish I had. Who are they from?
-[ The nurse picks the card out from the flowers and hands it to The Butcher. He then reads it aloud. ]-
The Butcher: To: Mrs. Nikki Cortez. Hope you get well soon. From: Agent Orange. Agent Orange? Whos that?
-[ The Butcher hands the card to Nikki and she shrugs her shoulders. ]-
The Butcher: Nurse, did you see who dropped these off?
Nurse: Yeah, some guy just stopped off at the front desk and said to send them up here right away.
The Butcher: What did he look like?
Nurse: He was a handsome man. About your height. And he was dressed in this military uniform with tons of medals. He was something, Ill tell you!
The Butcher: Yeah, I bet he was. Thank you, nurse.
Nurse: No problem.
-[ The nurse walks back out the door and down the hallway. The Butcher walks over to the bouquet and brings them over to Nikki. She smells them and has The Butcher put them on the table next to her. ]-
The Butcher: So you have no idea who they could be from?
Nikki: No idea. From the description, he sounds like your brother.
The Butcher: That could be but hes in Afghanistan. Besides, why would he call himself Agent Orange? Thats a weird name.
Nikki: Yeah, but if you notice, he called me Mrs. Nikki Cortez, not Sizzio. Whoever it is, knows were married.
The Butcher: Good point.
Nikki: Well whoever he is, he thought about me when you didnt!
The Butcher: Wrong, princess!
-[ The Butcher reaches into his jacket and pulls out a granola bar. He hands it to her. ]-
Nikki: Thanks! Finally, I get some real food around here.
The Butcher: Were going to get you out of here in a couple of days, ok?
Nikki: Sounds good to me. Im really looking forward to seeing the apartment you got us.
The Butcher: Itll do for the time being.
Nikki: Yeah, howd the move go? How are Cody and T-Man?
The Butcher: The move went fine. Were working through our problems but things seem to be all right. As a matter of fact, theyre here. They just wanted me to come see you first.
Nikki: Theyre cool like that.
-[ The Butcher stands up. ]-
The Butcher: Yeah they are. Ill go get them if you want.
Nikki: Sure, just let me freshen up in the bathroom. I dont want them to see that I was crying.
The Butcher: All right. Let me help you up.
Nikki: Thanks.
-[ Nikki sets her granola bar onto the table and The Butcher helps her get out of bed. She slowly walks towards the bathroom with The Butchers help. He opens the bathroom door and allows her to walk in herself. Due to the small size of the bathroom, he stays outside and waits for her to come back out. She comes out of the bathroom a minute later after washing her face and brushing her hair. Her eyes are still red and she still looks like shes been crying but not as bad. The Butcher helps her back to her bed and she opens her granola bar to take a bite. ]-
The Butcher: You gonna be all right?
Nikki: Yeah, you cheered me up some.
The Butcher: Good. Ill go get the guys. Be right back.
-[ The Butcher kisses her on the top of her head and makes his way towards the door. On the way out the door he smiles at her and she smiles back. He then begins to walk down the hall to find his friends. ]-
Damn, FroZtie! His attempts to ruin my life have failed but in the process he has ruined my wifes life. For that he shall pay. This little rivalry of ours has been going on for quite some time and I say it ends now! At Halloween Hangover I will finish FroZtie off for the last time and make sure he stays clear away from my family and friends. I wont underestimate FroZtie though. No. Hes a lot stronger mentally than one might think. His insanity has enhanced is ability to with stand a good beating; but Im not just going to give him a good beating, Im going to give him something hell never forget. Im going to beat you physically and mentally this time, FroZtie. Prepare to lose. Prepare to get out of my life for good. And prepare to feel the pain.

Think you missed one?
