Student Journal of Philosophy - Peer Reviewed

COGITO is a journal that publishes philosophical articles, essays, and papers written by university students. All articles are peer reviewed.

The first journal was published in 1966.

The UNSW Socratic Society, the USYD Russellian Society, and the Macquarie University Platonic Society have produced the 2005 and 2006 editions of COGITO.

COGITO is inviting submissions for the 2009 edition to come out in early 2010. Anyone interested should deliver their submissions to the Socratic Society, the Russellian Society or the Platonic Society by email:

Submissions due: July 31st, 2009

Submissions to the Journal should meet these basic conditions:

1.   Be an original work by a student at any level of university study

2.   On a philosophical topic or of philosophical interest

3.   Between 2000-6500 words in length

4.   Submitted typed on paper or preferably as an email file attachment

5.   Having good spelling and punctuation

6.   Adhere to the style guidelines.

The editors will also reply to a suggested topic or a summary of an article not yet written.

Any Macquarie University students interested email the Platonic Society.

Submissions should:
1. Preferably be the an original work by a student, however suggestions of copy-left images will also be considered
2. Of philosophical interest
3. Submitted preferably as an email file attachment.

A quality, soft cover, printed version is from the Platonic Society for just $12 or $9 for student Platonic Society members. Contact the Platonic Society for further details.

Mail orders can be arranged for an additional $2.50 to cover postage in Australia. Payment can be made by direct deposit or cheque.
