Explore the Atmoshere
July 13 - We had a special meeting geared towards guests. We had a fabulous Explore the Atmosphere theme. One speech covered the history of airplanes. Another speech was about an air bubble that gets no respect. In addition, Table Topics had an atmospheric theme. We had one guest, special prizes, treats, and a lot of fun.

Contest
We had a contestant in our Area 25 speech contest. We also judged the AE speech contests at Boeing and Rockwell/Collins.

New Members!
February - We have had many visitors this month. However, on one memorable night, we picked up THREE new members!

Location Change
February - For the month of February, we will be meeting in room BB118 at the Spring Creek Campus of Collin County Community College. We are still looking for a new, permanent location.

New Members!
January - We have had many visitors this month, which is always fun. What is even more fun is that not one, but two of our visitors became new members!

2008

Halloween
October 27 - We had a special meeting geared towards guests. We had a spooky Halloween theme. To add to the atmosphere, Toastmasters came in costume. One speech was a spooky story about a nightmare and the other was a mysterious story about a bad/bag/bat lady. In Table Topics, we created our own tale of a fantastic wishing well with a poltergeist. There was a costume contest and an award for the person that best lighted our way through the dark and spooky night. We had several guests and a lot of candy.

September 15 - We held our club contest for Tall Tales and Humorous Speech. We had two contestants in each category. The winners will be competing in the Area 25 contest on Friday, September 26.

The Power of Ideas Workshop
September 13 was a very special event. One of our Toastmasters conducted The Power of Ideas Workshop. It is part of her requirements to reach Advanced Communicator Gold.

Plano Frontier Goes Underground!
August 18 - We had a special meeting geared towards guests. Our theme was Plano Frontier Goes Underground. We explored an underground theatre with cockroaches Joe and Stew. We discovered the importance of wise land management. Attending the meeting were an underground theatre owner, a scientist, a miner, an undercover agent, a commander of a missile silo, and four guests. To add to the atmosphere, Toastmasters came in costume. As a special treat, everyone in attendance received rock candy, chocolate nuggets, and miner's gold chewing gum.

International Speech Contest
April - One of our members has won the area AND division International Speech Contest. She will be representing us at the district 50 contest.

Judging
February 12 - Several Plano Frontier Toastmasters served as judges at the Boeing High School Speech Contest. All the contestants gave outstanding speeches. Every year the speakers are better and it is a challenge to select a winner.

President Lincoln
February 11 - We had a special meeting geared towards guests. Our theme was Abraham Lincoln. To add to the atmosphere, Toastmasters came in costume. We had Lincoln logs, patriotic mints, and log cabin candy.

2007

Halloween
October 29 - We had a special meeting geared towards guests. We had a spooky Halloween theme. To add to the atmosphere, Toastmasters came in costume. One speech was a spooky story. In Table Topics, we created our own tale of a haunted mansion. We had several guests and a lot of candy.

Prehistoric Expedition
September 24 - We had a special meeting geared towards guests. We had a fabulous Prehistoric Expedition theme. We had expedition survival kits and balloon dinosaurs. One speech covered how geologic changes in the earth recur over time. Another speech described how a famous palentologist runs prehistoric research expeditions. In addition, Table Topics had a dinosaur theme. We had several guests and a lot of fun.

Galactic Adventure
June 25 - We had a special meeting geared towards guests. We had a fabulous Galactic Adventure theme. One speech covered the story of Apollo 13. Another speech described life as a galactic smuggler. In addition, Table Topics had an outer space theme. We had several guests and a lot of fun.

Guest Round-Up
March 5 - We had a special meeting geared towards guests. We had a fabulous Wild West theme. One speech covered the history of the Wild West. Another speech was about who murdered the saloon keeper. In addition, Table Topics had a Wild West theme. We had several guests and a lot of fun.

Silver Anniversary Celebration
October 24 - Today is the 25th anniversary of the founding of Plano Frontier Toastmasters. Instead of a meeting, we celebrated with a dinner at Steak & Ale. Some founding members of our club attended the dinner making this a truly special event.

Frontier Division International Speech Contest
April 17 - A member of Plano Frontier Toastmasters gave the invocation for the Frontier Division International/Table Topics Speech Contest. Our club also won a ribbon for on-time submittal of dues.

March 16 - Four Plano Frontier Toastmasters served as judges at the Boeing High School Speech Contest. All the contestants gave outstanding speeches. It was a challenge to select a winner.

Area 23 International Speech Contest
February 28 - A member of Plano Frontier Toastmasters participated in the Area 23 International/Table Topics Speech Contest.

The club contest for International/Table Topics was held. Both categories were won by the same person. She will be representing our club at the Area contest.

Club Contest for Humorous Speech and Evaluation
September 22 - The club held a contest for Humorous Speech and Evaluation. We had three contestants for the humorous speech category and 4 contestants for the evaluation category. The winners will go on to compete in the area contest being held on September 25.
