What do you hope/expect from planning for New Baltimore planning process? What should it accomplish? Why do you want to participate?

 

What people want to have happen in New Baltimore

Retail services, businesses

Co-op of artists etc.

Pride in homes and community

Retire and afford to stay

"Good" retail along 9W - make 9W attractive and functional (water and three phase power) for business

Make sure all voices are heard

Identify what New Baltimore is - our heritage - what we are all about

Control growth and direction - point it in the right direction   

Review "tools" we have in place now - do they work - why or why not

Allow concerns to be heard - make hamlet and hills part of same community

What is "emotional value" of town - what is special about New Baltimore

Cross section of people - variety - talent base of people

May  be on cusp of uncontrolled growth - need protection from unscrupulous developers

Preserve charm - open space - history

Need critical mass of economic development - have location and talent - need infrastructure

More than retail - need warehousing and distribution - high tech

Capture economic opportunity 

Support responsible, intelligent business people - support sensitive development

Appreciate diversity of people - maintain attractive place 

Reinforce and reward good development

Recognize link of New Baltimore to regional and national economy 

Plan to control development

Make sure control tools we need are in place

Light industrial

Be prepared for growth

Senior citizen services and housing

Inventory assets

Youth activities

Coordinate with Coxsackie and Athens
