Planet X performed at The Distillery in Mid-Town Sacramento (Gig #13). Opening was our good friends in Proon. It was an "audition" gig like others we've done lately and it was ours to invite whomever we wanted and we invited Proon because A) They had their own P.A. and the owner had frowned on the idea of having to setup two different P.A.s and B) I felt we owed them an earlier show, since they had asked us if they could play before us at Cafe Paris - and at that time we'd said "No". (The reason for that was our prior bad experiences playing really late at The Boardwalk) So this time I said "Yes", and we took the suicide slot.
The turnout was less than expected considering the fact that I'd flyered nearly the entire town with information about this show, but dem da breaks. Like our last show at Lindee's, this performance went great. Darryl had a string break during one song, but switched to his other guitar so quickly it wasn't even noticable. My voice held out fine, which is a relief - I was starting to worry that I'd damaged it at some of our previous gigs. We even brought in a few stragglers from outside the club. Everybody that bothered to come -- had a great time.
