Planet X triumphantly returned to The Boardwalk, after a five month absence. (Gig #18) It's been a long time coming, but this show was much more like it. We brought in a good crowd for the opening band (about 60+ people) and the crowd was really into us. A good portion of our friends and family came out to see us, thanks again - guys. Our overall sound was better than it's ever been. Playing so many gigs without any monitors (and we didn't have any monitors on this show either - they were blown) - has really helped us tighten up.
We played a short set that mostly emphasized the newer heavier songs like "Not Like You" and our newest "Go". Still we started out with some old favorites from our debut CD such as "Pain", "Run" & "Pay Your Dues". The crowd was kind of far back from the stage - (still) - but we could hear the shoots and cheers. It's was a nice way to come back to The Boardwalk. We had our CD's with us for sale (and even sold some)...plus we now have our own LAMINATES!! It's all good baybey.
After our show I went over and caught Lynch Mob's performance at Big Shots. And hung out with the guys from Oil Kan, (who had opened for Lynch that night). They put on a killer show. I talked with George for awhile, we've known him since the "One Live Night" days with Dokken - and it was a special treat to get to talk extensively with his new lead singer Kirk Harper. He's a great guy.
Wow...a whole starlog entry with nothing to complain about? Could this be the start of a trend?
Nah... don't bet on it.
