Audition show at Lindee's in Concord. (Gig #8)

    Lindee's was a blast.

Special shout-outs to Juli Swann who also played and to Athena - (Yes, The Athena of the band - "Athena") for driving all the way out there. We appreciate it and we definately had our share of drama - so having friend in the house was a blessing. First of all in one last IM/Chat's I had with Derek (Sherinian), he said he wanted to come to the show. So, I told him when and where it was.

Then I started to get worried that maybe he would show up with a *cease and desist* letter over the name issue (Planet X) - but that never happened. As it turns out- Derek had a show of his own to perform on the same night in L.A.

    Whew.

The Mitch-ster in action Anyway, we had our usual sound struggles, but the sound man was really good and gave us a nice overall sound. I couldn't quite hear my vocals so I wore my voice out a bit early trying to scream loud enough to hear. The weird part was that I still had my high range - so it wasn't a total loss. (Only people that knew our songs well - would have noticed) I could tell it was having problems fairly early in the show and ad-libbed a lyric in the middle of "Pay your Dues".

"Time to get me a soda..."

My wife, Robin caught the lyrical change, and promptly brought me some refreshment. :)

    Thanks again, hon.

The good news is that the Manager really liked us and since it was an audition - that's what counts. We have another gig scheduled there for on Saturday, July 24th. Prior to that we have a show during the day at Murder Burger in Davis with Juli Swann on Sunday July 18th.

Also, I've done a lot of updating on the Gigs page, including address, phone numbers and map links to all the clubs we've played and might play again, as well as places we'd like to play. I've also added a lot more sound samples in the community for "Other Kewl Bands" that I dig. A lot of those albums are no longer available, so the Planet X Community is basically the only place some of this work can be heard.

    The Rock never stops...
