Planet X performed an audition show at Downtown Sacramento's venerable Fox and Goose today. (Our first performance at this venue). Opening the show was our friend juli Swann and Ken Rego in their acoustic duo. juli was nice enough to let us use her brand new P.A., which was a great help. I truly think that this might have been one of our best sounding shows to date, certainly far better than our last show at The Boardwalk. None of the techincal difficulties we faced there, plagued us here, and we had plenty of time to play for as long as we wanted rather than be cut-off in mid set.

As it turned out we played for well over an hour mixing both old an new songs. Although for once we didn't play our near signiture song "Pay Your Dues", and I do beleive this is the first gig where that happened.

The turnout was light - even though I had been there the day before for open mike and promoted the show - and even though I walked several blocks over to Capitol Garage, where they were having their open mike that night and tried to scare ups some people - but what did we expect on a Tuesday night? We had more people watching us, than were a block away over at Old Ironsides that night. (Unless it isn't obvious -- there are a lot of clubs in Downtown Sacramento, all within walking distance... if you really Like to walk, that is)

Either way, we sounded good and we haven't had a chance to rehease lately, so this (and some of our other upcoming gigs) are effectively acting as open reheasals.

Compared to our normal reheasal - these are free, and we do have the pressure of an audience to keep us honest. We and the crowd, had a good time though, especially when Ken (Rego) compared Darryl's flying-V guitar to a divining rod.

That one had me on the floor, man - seriously.
