The Ron Monster on Bass @ The Boardwalk Today was our first show at Club Cocodrie in San Francisco (Gig #11). It's a real nice place, open and airy with a good sized stage and dance floor. I expected that it was going to be a small place, but it's nearly as large as The Boardwalk and the sound guy was excellent (with the possible exception of not having the vocals loud enough in the monitors - but that's par for the course). What's weird about the Cocodrie though, is the neighborhood it's in.

The place is packed with porno. There are three clubs/bookstores/video arcades on the same block - one right next door - where "Raylene" (Obviously not her real name) had made a live appearance just a couple days previously. I counted about four or five more clubs/shops around the corner. This is PORNO CENTRAL, man.

It's definately a place you don't want your wives and girlfriends to know you've been. So cover their eyes and hustle them into the Cocodrie - quick... before they see something you might like and slap the taste out of your mouth.

Anyway, back to the show -- we debuted two new songs. We opened the show with "Somewhere" and closed with "Far Away". The crowd, (mostly comprised of the other four bands and their entourage, roadies & girlfriends) really dug us. A lot of them, like us - were from out of town. (One group was from San Jose, another from Reno) The new songs really went over well - even though we made some mistakes on "Somewhere" - only we knew about it, everone else thought we we're really inventive (Fooled them again...hahahaha). The point of doing this show was to get invited back for a better gig, and from what we heard via the bartender and such - we will be invited back.

    Mission Accomplished.
