On Sunday, 15th September, two of our youngest eisteddfod girls did wonderfully well  at Castle Hill.  In their Jazz section, Renee Charos took out 3rd place while Samantha Risteski was awarded 1st place.  The pair also combined later in the day to take 2nd place in the duo section.  Well done girls!!
Also on the previous weekend, Samantha performed her Song & Dance routine for the first time for a well deserved 3rd place & attempted an improvisation section for the first time acchieving a Highly Commended.
"Proud Mary" takes out 2nd place at The Sydney Opera House.
"Fantastic!", "High Energy", "Brilliant Performance", " A Group Who Really Looked Like They Were Enjoying Themselves".  These were just a few of the comments from patrons about the Proud Mary troupe, overheard in the foyer of the Sydney Opera House on Sunday night after the final of the Ronald MacDonald Challenge Open Jazz Section - the most prestigious section for Jazz performance in the most prestigious dance competition in Australia.
The K&V dancers performing a routine choreographed by Miss Jade wowed a packed audience in the Opera House Concert Hall, taking out second place in the final after qualifying from a section of 67 troupes.  The Brent Street Studio, renowned for its "full-timers" took out the first place and the Marie Walton Dance Academy from Newcastle were 3rd.  Other finalists included the well-credentialed Capital Performance Studios from Hornsby and Sher's Studio of Modern Dance from Wollongong.
Miss Jade and the dancers would like to thank all of you who came along to give them moral and vocal support.  Your presence in that vast auditorium was greatly appreciated.
Does anyone recognise the two "young" ladies in the poster above?  They are both planetdance "starlets"  who are appearing in the show  at the Roxbury Theatre, Penrith during the second week of the school holidays
