07-26-04:  The weekend always seems to breeze by and the only thing I have to show for it is a new tan line... now my arms don't match my shoulders.  Scott started off last night's show by asking for Jerry Goldsmith.  I had no idea that Mr. Goldsmith was so prolific: Alien, Planet of the Apes (television series), The Twilight Zone (movie & television series), L.A. Confidential, the Star Trek movies, the Rambo movies... he is credited on over 300 soundtracks.   Junior Boy got lassoed into searching for titles in the vinyl vault and he had more success than I did culling through the CD's.

This news bit caught my eye:  A woman didn't have her glasses on when she inserted a gold kruger into the parking meter...the coinage was worth $1000 at least.  Human nature being what it is, do you think anyone would turn in this rare coin if found?

7-16-04:
Gene asked me what was my favorite movie of the year and sadly I had to think long and hard before I could come up with an answer.  I think it's an indication of too much tofu on the brain and not having the social acumen to go out and spend $10 to see what's new.  When I finally came up with 'Shrek 2,' I think the title won by default, mainly because I haven't seen that many movies.  The soundtrack also made a pretty big impression on me... I made everyone wait around while I read the scrolling credits because I just HAD to know who sang 'Holding Out For a Hero'... plus this movie had me tearing up from laughing so hard.  Next on the list: Spider-man 2.

07-12-04: I got a postcard from Italy.  It triggered off a bout of day-dreaming... if only I could visit Umbria without a schedule.  Italy is a beautiful place to just sit and soak in the summer.  Plus, the newest Festivalbar compilation has been issued and the street value's probably less than the $50 Borders charges.  I should have listened to Dad... life would be different and I'd be  a whole other person.  Okay, maybe it's a good thing I didn't listen to Dad.  Even though I'm not using my BFA, I kinda like my life, I just need to figure out how to pad my anemic bank account.
