04-28-03: There are lots and lots of new sounds abounding in the hemisphere... have you heard of the group Fisherspooner?  I found the track The 15th on a compilation called Chillout 2003 and it reminded me of Depeche Mode, New Order, and the Pet Shop Boys...a hybrid of my favorite sounds from the 80's..  Fisherspooner is my current favorite along with a new album called The Best of Trance Vol. 3.  A lot of calls came in during last night's show... Delerium's Silence garnered a lot of attention and Andrea Bocelli's Caruso was beautifully received as well.  Your positivity always make me look forward to Sundays.  Thanks for the encouragement!  The art department has released a new crop of talent and the BFA show is currently open for viewing in the main gallery...walk on over to the bamboo garden and explore the creative and inspiring depths of the class of 2003.  Are you ready for commencement?  This semester is winding down and May is just around the corner...I wish my thumb were greener and I could make leis instead of buying them from Chinatown.

04-22-03: The alarm kept buzzing and soon became part of the blurry soundtrack of my technicolor dream...or maybe it was in black and white.  All I know is that it was very difficult to pull myself out from slumber and back into the biting cold of morning reality...brrr!  Everything was freezing cold...the water...the tiles...my nose.  I wanted to go back to sleep where it was so much warmer.  OUCH!  I am not sure how I did it, but I seem to have bitten myself in between my inner cheek and lower gum...I can't talk too good.  Yummers...I need to nourish the ravages of time and feed my empty stomach now.  Zai jian.

04-17-03:
Happy Birthday Alan!  This month is whizzing by and I got my taxes into the drop-off point before midnight.  My throat is starting to hurt again which means that I'm catching a cold.  Its been a blah week. There are too many things happening and I can't afford to be sick...I decided to head it off before I lost my voice again, and have downed a bottle of cold/flu syrup.  Yech! The label touts its new cherry flavor...but it still tastes horrible.  Tonight is the last performance of Unspeakable Acts and it caps off weeks of rehearsal with a great cast.  As the semester winds down, once again I am at crossroads contemplating the fall term. I'm still in the unclassified status zone...and people are graduating left and right...the pressure of it all!!  I'm consuming chai lattes like its going out of fashion.  Tomorrow is Good Friday...thus, no school... sleeping in...free street parking...but really, use this time to think about what Easter is about.  Ciao.

04-08-03: Most of the music that I bring to the show gets lugged around for the whole day before I start the show at 6pm.  Last week, I decided that I would not be weighed down, and I skipped fancy free into the air-room without my usual library in tow.  It seemed as if the dark skies above decided to pour just as I was going to school and boy did I get a soaking.  Anyways, with my wet feet and clammy jeans, I still had a blast.  I filled up the show with tracks culled from Asia and the new section...I played a lot of Putumayo's Cover the World and African Playground...my dream job would be to intern at that label and get to rub elbows with all the great personalities that put together such diverse talent from all over the world...to travel...to listen to music...and to get paid for it too. Wow...cool concept.

4-04-03:
Well, it is another Friday night and I am sitting in front of the computer monitor listening to David Newman.  The news coverage is continually focused on the Middle East and the Lynch family is blessed to get Jessica back.  My thoughts and prayers continue to go out to all of those involved in heart wrenching conflict...how are you holding up?  Well, I hope you do your taxes before the 15th...and I gotta send out a huge MAHALO to Keith for changing my windshield wipers...I passed my safety check!
