Having gotten a ride from one of the growing number of dragons on her home world, Kenfar, the lynnx, arrived on Ahn'Durell, and began exploring.  She'd heard about this place from a few of the dragons, and a few of her friends who had recently returned from gaining dragons of their own.  There had been a rumor of racing creatures, different from horses. Her family had owned racehorses for several generations, and while she loved them, she wanted to try something different.
And she soon discovered how different.  When she got to the main town, she saw several of the Dunan, as the racers were called.  They filled roles filled by horses on Malnev; riding, pulling carts and wagons, racing.  Standing upright, they only had two legs, and a pair of small wings for forelimbs.  They came in horse colors, and from what she could tell, feline colors as well.
As she looked around, Kenfar's whiskers quivered in excitement.  This was exactly what she was looking for!  Now, if she could only figure out how to get some.  She headed to the nearest building, and asked for information on the dunans.  The resident kindly gave her directions to the nearest stable, which they had heard was having a sale.
Following the directions, she soon found her way to the stable.  After talking to the owner for a few minutes, he led her to the barns.  He showed off his stock, explaining how he cared for them, how to decide where each would excel, what were the best training methods he had found.  By the end of the tour, he had offered her a pair of kits, some of his good stock, to start a stable of her own.  He even offered a small part of his land to use until she could get some of her own, as he was selling almost all of his stock in order to retire.  Most of his stock was already sold, but hadn't been picked up by their new owners yet.
Thrilled, the lynnx didn't know what to say.  She hadn't expected to get anything this easily, but she vowed to take the best care possible of the two kits.  The white male with black markings, she named Cloud Runner, and the roan female, Solar Strike.  She set them up in a small stable on the edge of the property and cleaned up the small home next to it.  She would make sure these two grew up to be fantastic.

Kenfar took up training her two dunans, knowing that if she eventually wanted a working stable, she would have to train these two well.  After some initial training, with the help of her benefactor, she decided that Cloud Runner would probably do best as a sprinter, while Solar Strike would do better as a jumper.  She continued to train them, lightly at first since they were still young, but increasing in intensity when they reached adulthood.

After a year or two, her two dunans were old enough to work, and she continued to train them, and occasionally race them in friendly races with a few friends she had made in her time here.  The gentleman who had given her the two kits, Neldar, had been so impressed with her training and handling that he worked out a deal, where she could buy the stable and lands from him, as long as he was permitted to come back and visit the two dunans.  He liked the way they were turning out, and wanted to see how they fared in real races.
Soon, Kenfar noticed that the two dunans seemed to be flirting with each other.  She went to Neldar and asked him for advice when it comes to breeding.  She decided to go ahead and breed them, and see what happened.  They were both good stock, and she needed to get a good line started.
When the kits were born, Kenfar was slightly surprised at the two of them.  One looked like his mother, but with black wings and different markings.  And the other, the female, looked like her father, but with different markings.
