Introduction
Welcome
to Placentia Public Library Board’s website.
Our
mandate is to support the library and our first priority to promote
the library within
the
community.
Our web
site provides us an opportunity to showcase our library history, provide
information, highlight local authors and promote literacy.
We have
a modern library with over 20,000 book-stock, subscribe to more than 30
monthly periodicals, and have six public-access computers with high-speed
Internet service. To use a computer all you need is a "free" library card.
Placentia has a wealth of creative writers, many of whom write for local
and provincial publications. In an attempt to promote and preserve our
local culture, the Placentia Public Library Board has invited these
authors to share some of their stories, poems, and articles in the
Writers Corner section of the site.
