Study and Validation of a Model of Fetoplacental Circulation
Geocities free web host service is closing! This site is being moved to a hopefully more reliable provider. Our new address is http://placenta.200u.com.
The target of this work was the study of the
fetoplacental circulation through a new model, for the first time
able to analyze both physiological and pathological cases.
The model can be applied to modern systems of clinical analysis, to
early detect some pathologies of the pregnancy.
This study was supported by the development of perfusion techniques
(with blood and with formaldehyde) that allowed the verification of the
hypothesis introduced into the model.
- The first part of this site describes the placental physiology, some pathological
conditions, the diagnostic instruments.
- The second part takes in examination the perfusion systems and methods
used in our experimentation over 61 placentas.
- The third part is devoted to the analysis of our model.
- The fourth part explains subjects that are not common to medicine and engineering.
- The Download page allows to store more quickly the parts of this site you are interested in into your hard disk.
- The complete writing is accessible through the Index page.
- Some pictures are thumbnailed, for a quick loading of each page.
- We are listed by all the major international and local search engines, and by many sites dedicated to related arguments.
Look at our Links page for an updated list.
Please send us a copy of any writing that made use of information obtained from this thesis.
