| Corey awoke early the next day. He got himself out of bed, took a set of clothes from his clothes, and opened his door. He then walked towards the showers and walked inside. After stripping off his clothes, and stepping beneath the shower head, Corey had the strangest feeling inside. He had never before detected a non-corporal being before, but now he felt it. It was like a hurricane of power. The water turned icy cold, and everyone else in the shower room suddenly stopped moving. "Is this Corey? Corey Evarian? Yes, you feel like the one. How long has it been? Since you've been to this school? Since your parents' deaths? Since you joined the OutKasts?" Corey flinched at that last part, but he now turned to face whoever was speaking to him. There was no one there. "Poor Corey, you may not realize this, but there are other psychics out there. Some, even more powerful than yourself. Although I may not be psychic, i still have my telepathic abilities to be able to use to communicate out of this plane of existance. Join me, Pixel, or feel the wrath of Solbretakane." Corey finally gathers enough strength and confidence to attempt a psychic backlash. The enrgy whells inside of him, but just before releasing it, it is snuffed out in a blink. "Do not disrespect me, Corey. My power is infinate, and yours is not even novice compared to mine. Resist, and your friends will be dealt with. You will know what I speak of on the fifth day of school. Farewell, for I will be back soon." Corey falls to the floor of the shower. He gasps for air, and realizes a few people are now staring at him. Quickly, he erects mental illusions within each of them, causing the other guys in the shower to think that Corey falling down was just a dream. After dressing, Corey went into the gym, where it was empty. "Login: Pixel. Code: OutKasts. Password: Beta Trial." Corey waits as the gym changes itself on the inside, though all others on the outside would be oblivious to the transformation. Soon, the whole area had transformed, and now the OutKasts could be seen below the floor, on the second level. Corey walked over to the control panel and oppened up the lower hatch. Climbing down the ladder, he waited to until one of the lower members walked forward. "Pixel." She began. "We have been making a few breakthroughs on Trigger's programming. We have successfully jammed any and all radar sequences from being active down here, and we have given him complete control over his own body, in case our good doctor attempts to take control. Also, our group has increased by one new member. His name it drive. Mutant power: Complete control over all electronic systems. Also, partial immunity to electricity. Full immunity against radar and electronic detection. That is all the information I have, the other seven....wait, no, now eight members of OutKAsts has a few bits of data to add about schoolwide activity." After speaking, Giggs pulls back and goes walking up and out of the open hatch. Corey walks over to where he sees Lanus seated. "We really need to talk. I have some really important information that can't wait. There is some major being attempting to infiltrate our headquarters. He is far mor powerful than myself, and most likely, not even our whole group would be able to even coming close to his true power. He drained out all of my energy before I was even able to create a psionic backlash. I really think we should be a bit more warry." Said Corey, not sure if Lanus was even listening. "You, my friend are far too stressed. Just sit and have some tea or coffee or somthing. So some mutant has the power to supress yours, the rest of the group could take him out while he concentrates on stopping your power. It was probably some other kid walking by." said Lanus. Corey shook his head. "Uh uh. I was in the shower. Everyone around we suddenly stopped moving. There was no detection of any active minds around me, and there was no one around to talk to me. It was some sort of ethreal being. I'm sure of it!" Said Corey, raising his voice slightly. "Well, mutant or not," said Lanus, ripping some cords from his wrists. "He probably has class also, seeing as how we are both late for our first period classes." Lanus and Corey left the gym, and turned on the security system. They both began walking towards their classes, when suddenly, the administration attendance office woman appeared before them. With her, stood Andrea, Morgan, Synista, and Mateyo. "I am really sorry, but could you take them off my hands? Thier classes don't start until tomorrow, and they want to leave campus. I have already given them passes, and just wanted to tell you they were leaving." And with that, the woman was gone. Corey and Lanis look at each other, then at the four kids standing in front of them. "Um, alright. So, where is it you four were planning on going?" asks Corey, looking at the four people in front of him. Mateyo seemed bored with the whole thing, and really had no indication whether or not he was still listening to anything still happening. "Well, I was thinking maybe we could go out shopping, seeing as how we are in LA, and this is my first week here, and I haven't had any time at all to go sight-seeing." suggests Synista, smiling at Corey. "Fine! We'll go shopping, it's not like there's anything else I'll be able to do today, not with you children running around everywhere." sighs Corey. Lanis flashes him a look of confusion. "But Corey, they're older than you are. Only two of them are younger. If anyone were to call them children, it would be myself, being a year and a half older than you." said Lanis, obviously not getting the look of annoyance in the boy's eyes. The group of kids went walking and soon left the campus, heading south towards the shopping outlet. Suddenly, Corey stopped. "Oh no! I forgot! I have to go take Nikoletta to the eye specialist today!" said Corey, suddenly turning, a look of fear in his eyes. "I'll be back in a bit! All four of you, head back to the school, Lanis, get the motercycle, we'll need it!" As if on cue, a large motocycle, looking more like a two-wheeled-tank, appears by the side of the road. The two hop on and speed away, leaving Synista, Morgan, Andrea, and Mateyo standing around feeling very lost. Corey closes his eyes as soon as he and Lanis are safely out of range of the watchful eyes of the four students and lets his mind begin to envelop himself and Lanis within a hallucinatory terrain of a car. His thoughts surround him and his outfit transforms into his OutKast uniform. Lanis' system recallibrates for battle, as metal plates cover his outer body, and he also gets on his OutKasts uniform, although as a mutant hunter, he would just as soon destroy the entire organization, a certain affinity for the boy, Corey, has prevented him from doing so. In fact, his step-father had tried countless ways to get Lanis to capture the legacy viris survivor, Lanis could never bring himself to harm Corey. Although most of his brain was damaged when his body had cybernetics added to it, one of the only things keeping him under control was his humanity. Soon, Corey and Lanis appear at an old construction site, where two of their teammates, Fallout and Karma, battle against the rest of the OutKasts group. <What happened> asked Corey, psionically contacting Giggs and waiting for her own mental response. "We're not sure. It's almost as if some strange entity possessed them. One minute, they're fine, and the next, they've already taken out Brain and Phobia. Their powers of molecular manipulation and transmutation of luck and probabilities really counteracts almost all of our attempts to stop them. That's why I called on the two of you. Corey, you can affect them psychically, since Brain is gone, and Lanis can trap them into energy webs capable of canceling out their powers. Hopefully, the two of you can handle it, since my power of creating sound isn't helping." Giggs suddenly is hit by a wave of dark energy. It seemed to come out of no where, since none of Corey's comrades could use such powers. Suddenly, the motorcycle hit a fluxuation within the motor and begins to sputter, before going out of control. Corey and Lanis jump off, just in time before the bike slammed into a buidling and exploded. Corey was able to raise a telekinetic field just in time, before the flames slammed into the barreir. |
