Subject: Another semester means another meeting
I trust that everyone had a wonderful/great/good/all right/so-so/(hopefully not bad) vacation!

Yes indeed to answer those who have asked me (both of you), we will be having a meeting this week. The only glitch is in which room will we be meeting? I assume that it will still be in the same room that we have been having it, but if the room has not been booked, I will let everyone know before the meeting.

I am sure that a few of you are eager to show off your new toys, vids, everything that you got over the vacation. So bring anything that you want to show off!

Also, on a side note... does anyone still have Matt's Dual! DVDs? He's going to be moving soon and needs them back.

Well I hope to see everyone again tomorrow!

Subject: Some random stuff to ponder (posted on message board too)
i hope all y'all had a decent holiday/winter/celebration of my date of birth/etc.

starting the new semester:
do we want to have a meeting?
what do we want to discuss at said meeting?
what to watch? future plans for the semester?
birthday presents for me?
upcoming campus events where we can peddle ourselves?
ideas on how to entertain our remaining members? informal get-togethers after meetings?
plan group trips (and quit shooting this idea down with that little problem of no money) to japanese restaurants?
buy me gackt?
plan trips to joplin to go to best buy for their semi-there collection of anime?
plan trips to kc to go to suncoast for their there but over-priced collection of anime?
something?
anything?
ideas, folks?

Subject: Important Minutes and Other Anime Business
First of all, thanks to those of you who stayed for the U-Club showings! And next on our business ventures...

1) We have club yearbook pictures being taken tomorrow at the meeting (11-20). Dress up as something or someone or along those lines... so be there on time!

2) Party this weekend in Dellinger lobby. Usual start times of about noon on Friday and going until whenever it ends.

That's the big news that I can come up with. I will see everyone this Wednesday for pictures!

Subject: Anime Club Minutes
Hello hello everyone! It has been a long time since I have written down what has been going on. I have long long excuses, but none of them are really all that good. But feel free to come up with something better for me to use as an excuse.
Lessee lessee... the news is really as follows. Next weekend is the showing in the U-Club theatre for Akira and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. Very very good movies so I suggest everyone come to see! They are free, just in case you were wondering. But you know that nothing beats seeing a kicking good movie on a bigger screen! And for those of you who are looking for a partybefore the end of the semester, there is a tentative date of November 22nd and 23rd in Willard or Dellinger. More news will be hitting me upside the head later. As for this weekend, I am actually going to get around to marathoning some stuff this Friday/Saturday. I think it's a toss-up between Key: The Metal Idol and Evangelion. If you are interested, lemme know before like, 3 tomorrow. It will take place in Willard Hall...

After all that fun announcement stuff, we watched something called the Get Backers which looked really spiffin'!

That's about all my sleep-fogged brain can come up with...
See everyone later!

Subject: Anime Club Minutes / Party Questions
Hello to everyone and glad to see so many people at the party that was held this weekend in Tanner lobby. I don't know how long everyone lasted; I just know that I zonked out about 1:30 which was pretty good considering that I had to be up at 7 the same morning... -_-;;;;

But there are a couple of questions to those who attended:
1) Anyone know what happened to Sarah's VCR and my A/V cables that were attached to it?
2) Ushio and Tora tapes of Jonathan's are similarly missing.
3) Not to mention Initial D tape 1 and 2 of Jonathan's.

If anyone got ahold of these items or other items that belong to someone else in the club, please bring them to the next meeting.

Oh, and speaking of the meeting next Wednesday, we have different rooms for this coming meeting and the next one.

10/09 Kansas East room
10/16 Sunflower room
10/23 Resume having meetings in the Inaugural room for the rest of the semester.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and I will see most/all of you next week!

Subject: Weekly Belated Minutes
For everyone who attended the last sorta-meeting, thanks for coming. We didn't cover a lot of things but I will give a run-down on what went on...

Jonathan wasn't done going over the rest of the tapes that were to go into the library, but he's going to get them done soon.He also got new toner and is making posters for the party that is happening this weekend (October 4th in Tanner lobby). So grab people and tell them to come and have some fun!

That's pretty much it except for the following news from our lovely webmistress:

Starting this coming week, the Japanese Language Club and Anime Haven web site committee will be meeting. The Japanese Language Club will meet at 4:00 on Mondays in the Collegiate room. The web site committee will meet in the Inaugural room Tuesdays at 7:00. See the Anime Haven web site Schedule page for more details:

If you wish to be put on the e-mail list for either of those, contact
Sarah at [email protected] and include WHICH meeting you're interested in receiving updates about (if you don't, you'll just be put on both). Then put that same e-mail address on your "This is Not Bulk Mail" list. Otherwise you may not get the e-mails.

Subject: Anime Meeting Minutes: Now Serving Menchi-kabobs
Welcome new people, not-so-new people, winterfresh people, and all the rest of the usual anime crowd! This is your semi-humble secretary meowing out the minutes of the week in a semi-timely fashion. That is, the minutes are getting out *before* the next meeting.

Important stuff that was brought up:
PARTY! PARTY!

Oh yes, and a party too. It will be in the Dellinger Lobby for those who have forgotten/weren't there/simply haven't been told enough. It will kick off at noon (when I get out of my last class) and if you can't get in because the door is locked, then stand at the window with a sad face and wewill come let you in. We can't deprive anyone of animated television; it just isn't right. Donations of food and drink are welcome. I will be heading off to Wal-Mart to pick up more provisions shortly after things start so if you have any requests, then let me know early.

As for other important news. We have a little thing called dues that help fund all these wonderful parties. That is one of the bonuses of being a paying member. Other bonuses include the free borrowing of tapes/DVDs from our nice library. Dues only run $10 a semester/$15 for the whole year and donations of tapes/DVDs/lots of food stuffs or pop can pay off the dues. Not to mention a donated DVD player will give you super special membership for life and the adoration of everyone in the club from now until the end of time. But I digress...The first party as always is totally free, though. And everyone should be there because it is good, clean, enjoyable fun. Unless you count Berserk or Digi-Charat. Then it's good and scary fun. *Note from Web Coordinator: These two shows should never, ever be seen in the same category again!* So everyone is welcome to bring their anime collections for viewing. We can play DVDs (mind the region coding if they are imports), VCDs and tapes so bring any and everything that would be good viewing. And if you have other nifty things that you wanna show off, bring that too.

That's about it for that. So on to what we actually did at the meeting. We opened for the people who had to go to night classes aroung 4:30. But everyone piled in about 5-ish so we had a fun fun drawing of all the stuff that we had that was donated by ADV. We love free things. Then weintroduced the new members (Hello all the new people and welcome!!!) and Jonathan showed off all the nifty things that he got like his ultra-nifty Transformers book thingie. We also mentioned that members could put together lists of the anime that they have because for the past few years, most of us have loaned out anime that other people were wanting to see but couldn't find/afford it. So if you don't mind loaning things (we give stuff back promptly), then put together a list before next meeting. Lastly, we watched 'Otaku no Video' which is a total fan-movie.

Well that just about sums it up. There are a few important links though that you may want to visit.

Subject: First anime minutes of the year that has new people to read them
And yes, I could make that subject line a lot longer. ^_^;

I hope everyone had a good three-day weekend. I know mine was not long enough. Well, with my procrastinative efforts, I am getting these out a wee-bit late. Well we had our first official official meeting of the year and we had a very good turn-out with about seven new members. Hello new members!

Some of the stuff that we did is that we went over some of our new toys that we got over the summer. Also, we learned that our president did a neat thing in writing some of the anime companies in America and asked for some free stuff. Guess what? The nice nice people of ADV sent us a whole heap of stuff like whole DVDs to add to our growing library.

Stuff....

DVDs: Dai-Guard Terrestrial Defense Corp. 1, Excel Saga 1, Zone of the Enders: Idolo, Plastic Little, Spriggan, Burn Up Excess: To Serve and Protect, ADV Trailers for October and November. CDs: Music Album Inspired by Boogiepop and Others, SIN: The Movie CD. Other Stuff: ADV films 2002 catalogue, Newtype USA preview, clingy things, T-shirts, banners.... Whew! That's a lot of stuff.

Other random news stuff. We have an activities fair going on Wednesday from 11am to 1pm and our lovely club has a table set up. What we could use is workers. So if you have no classes and want to sit at the table and use powers of persuasion to recruit people into the land of anime-goodness, then let us know or just show up if you can't get to a computer.

More random stuff: We have a party this weekend in Dellinger lobby! Happy day! Bring stuff and show off. ^_^

That's most of the news. We watched opening themes from various shows and then I had to run. As for next week, we will be in the Inaugual room again and everyone can show up about 5-5:30 (unless you can't make it due to night classes, then you can come early and we'll give you the rundown). Hope to see everyone there!

Your ever humble/late secretary

Lindsay

Subject: First meeting of the year
Hello hello fellows! Welcome back to the wonderful land of Pittsburg! I hope everyone made it back in under 2 pieces. One piece, preferable, but 1.5 is alright too. And due to popular questioning (two people asked), we are probably going to have a meeting tomorrow. Okay, I am not certain if we have a room for this Wednesday or not, so if everyone is here, then we can have our meeting in the lobby area outside of the bookstore. If any of our illustrious officers know for certain if we have a room, please feel free to let us all know. I hope to see everyone and have fun before the start of all that studying.

Your awake secretary

The Lindsay

Subject: Okay, I am a dunce!
Okay, as it was pointed out to me, I forgot to tell everyone *when* the unofficial get-a-bit-caught-up-on-summer-stuff meeting would take place. I'm thinking about 4-4:30 for reason of two members mentioned not being able to go to later Wednesday meetings. So that's the time and I think I said that we'd be in the Student Centre lobby (unless the people get real mean or something... then we'll bite them in the ankles and leave). We will have the official official meeting next Wednesday because Jonathan will have posters printed out by then. We don't really have a room then either, but we'll make that up when we get there. ^_^

Hope to see everyone there!

The Semi-Confused Secretary

Lindsay

Subject: Mission: First semi-official meeting. Status: It was.
Hello my fellow buyers of too many goods that are nifty to look at!

I had another e-mail that was nice and long and all that, but Hotmail ate it, so I wasn't all that pleased. As for the meeting, it started at 4:00 and had a bout of bad joke-telling that earned me a whack with a hat. And we actually had a pretty decent turn-out considering the lack of notice. But thanks to everyone who did show up!

We talked about the things we did over the summer and batted around a few ideas for meeting dates and times. As for next week, we will be in the student center lobby again at 4:00. A not-so-subtle reason being the recruitment of new members. So if you have some eye-catching anime goods that would make people come over and say "Hey, that's kinda cool. What the heck is it?" then this would be a good thing. Oh, and officers are asked to come a few minutes early to catch up on the business that needs to be gone over.

We also discussed a kick-off party of the semester to happen the first full weekend of September. That is, the 6th and the 7th starting about 12:00 (noon). It will probably happen in the Dellinger lobby because that is easier to get into and a little roomier (or so I was told).

As for meeting times, it was brought to my attention by a few club members that later Wednesday afternoon meetings are conflicting with class schedules. So if anyone else has problems with around 4:00 meetings, or problems with Wednesdays in general (other than you just don't like that day), then please let me know and we will take that into consideration if we need to change the meeting days and times. That was a run-on sentence extraordinaire. ^_^

That is about all that I covered in the first e-mail that got eaten. And no, this is not just a lame excuse. It really did get eaten. I have proof, but I left it in my other pocket. I hope to see everyone next week!

You ever humble secretary

Lindsay
