 NRA Basic Pistol Course. A concealed carry permit (pistol permit) is required to carry and purchase pistols/revolvers in Connecticut. A hunting license or carry permit will allow you to purchase any long gun in Connecticut without having to endure the state imposed waiting period. In order to get a State Permit to Carry you must first obtain a local permit from the local police. The NRA Basic Pistol Course is required in order to get your local
