Emma Glover Baptist Church Cemetery established 1854, located Hwy 49, Glover, Iron CO., MO
Isaac's headstone reads:
REV. ISAAC LANE born June 15, 1835 died June 28 1900 "We will miss thee from our church dear brother. We will miss thee from thy place. We miss thy kind and willing hand. Thy fervent earnest prayer, our church is dark without thee. We miss thee everywhere."
Isaac shares this pillar marker with his wife, Diannah, though there was not evidence of older makers making their original graves.
Diannah died in Ellington, Carter Co., MO & was buried in Logan Valley but due to flooding arrangements were made to exhume her body in April 1944. She was moved to Emma Glover Baptist Church Cemetery to rest beside her husband. [Some may spell last name as Hough as her family was from England.] |
