Yawn... I'm so bored. Bored with the lack of good stuff to watch on television (and we've got a LOT of channels...every single one you could ask for) bored with surfing the web... Just plain old bored.
This morning I paused for breakfast and the scene could really have used a digital camera. I sat outside the Dunkin Donuts and ate a muffin. I quite suddenly found myself surrounded by birds...not pigeons mind you but little birds...dunno what kind they were. One bird even was so daring as to land on the table in front of me and stare me in the face. Now, when I eat a muffin I tend to spread crumbs everywhere, so I became these birds' best friend in the whole world. It was as if I had a dozen hungry Bijous staring me in the face waiting for me to open the can of cat food, or tuna or bag of Doritos. It was the funniest thing I had ever seen, I really wish I could have taken a picture to share.
On another note, the bus ride from the train station to the office takes me past a parking lot full of "Gotham City Police" cars...and "Gotham City SWAT" trucks. I just want to know... are they REALLY filming Batman in Chicago? Has anyone heard anything?
On my last day in the city of Chicago....while cleaning up my apartment...the car was broken into and they stole the radio.
I just want to THANK YOU whoever you are for stealing that piece of shit radio...it has no station preset buttons, the only way to tune stations is to turn that shit assed knob like you've got nothing better to do than twist that knob and try to read the digital read out. Also, it can't seem to keep a station tuned in either...it likes to hop from 101.1 to 101.o to 101.2 etc at will. So thank you VERY MUCH for taking that shit out of the car.
Also thank you for not taking time to look through the car and steal the two laptop computers that were on the floor in the back seat.
HOWEVER, I am totally pissed off at you for A) breaking the window and 2) taking off with my Violent Femmes CD that was still in the radio. When I got that CD I disposed of the cassette...so now I have no Femmes anymore. I'm CERTAIN you don't appreciate the greatness that is the Violent Femmes so could you PLEASE send it back to me?
So SBC totally sucks... We got the whatever it was to be online, but they still wont turn us on for another week or so, they claim it's some kind of FCC thing... pssht... I've got a frickin' FCC license...what are we waiting for?! (I'm sure it has nothing to do with an FCC license...but still, it made me laugh to type that - and that's important right now). But seriously, we ordered this frickin Yahoo/SBC DSL crap a month ago...what's the deal?
So this suburban living thing is...interesting... We've met all the neighbors, they're letting us use their wireless internet which is awesome. And we've loaned them our lawnmower. Yup, it's one happy little community. I've already had to pull some weeds out of the landscaping in the front yard but I have yet to get the chance to plant anything. I've discovered that in the night Mabel hops up on the kitchen counter and eats my shamrocks and then pukes them up on the nice new carpet in the family room... and one of the dogs is angry and poops on the diningroom floor.
The kitchen is nearly set up, we just need to decide who's kitchen table to use and then put the legs back on and get it in there. We've discovered some "mystery boxes" it was fun to ponder what was inside mine. Unfortunatly it wasn't nearly as exciting when I opened it....it was just a box of bathroom supplies....bah... Now I need to go through the 6 boxes of books to find one to read on the train tomorrow. I may decide to dive into one of the boxes that says "stuff and books" though, cuz I think that's the one with the new books Tammy gave me.
The cat/dog thing is....well....it's sort of what I was expecting. I'm just hoping the dogs settle down with the cats soon. I know the cats are tired of hiding in the bathroom all the time. I'm really tired of the incessant barking at all hours and the chasing of the cats up and down the stairs. Mabel had better bite Christian on the ass or I'm going to do it myself...
