{rolThe M-41 Light Tank was designed after the WWII to replace the M24 Light Tank, used during that conflict as a recon unit. The first M41 ready for combat appeared in 1951 and many were built for overseas countries, last seeing action in 1981 in Iran-Irak war, but still is in service in several armies, like Brazilian and Danish. This tank had since the begining several drewbacks from bad design, plus a number of characteristics belonging to the WWII, no suitable for modern times. This M41 had no night vision equipment, nor fire control system or NBC. Also, the petrol engine exploded too fast, and the autonmy range was too short.
Both Brazilian and Danish armies have much improved their M41, with better diesel engines, which have improved its range from 100 miles at first to almost 400, 90 mm tank guns, additionalk armour protection, and, in the Danish type, NBC, Ellectric gun-control system, night vision devices, and new 76'mm ammo.o}
