B1 CENTAURO TANK DESTROYER

{ROThis is an example of what we were talking about before. This Italian angel reaches the same speed of faster tanks and features the same main gun, fully stabilised, of most medium tanks and some MBTs, which makes it a very fast and tough opponent. It's almost a tank with wheels. Actually, the turret has all the gadgets of a tank, firing standard 105 mm NATO ammunition, with the excellent APFSDS. The Italian army placed an order for 400 units, first of which were delivered in 1991. Includes stablised day-night sights, NBC system, fire detection and supression system, even some of them saw action in Somalia and were fitted with ERA (Explosive reactive armour). There is a project to use its 8x8 chassis for an APC and also for carrying a 155 mm artillery system.
