Apple Previews iDVD 2 for Mac OS X at Macworld Expo
Hollywood-style Menus Enhance World’s Easiest DVD Authoring Solution

Apple® today previewed iDVD 2 for Mac® OS X, bringing powerful motion video menus to the world’s easiest to use application for creating professional-looking
DVDs that play in consumer DVD players. Following just months after Apple’s stunning unveiling of its SuperDrive™, a combination CD-RW/DVD-R drive, and iDVD software in January, iDVD 2 cements Apple’s leadership position in DVD authoring.
“In less than one hour, iDVD 2 users can now create a custom DVD with super-cool menus that rival anything coming out of Hollywood,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “iDVD 2, with Mac OS X and the new super-fast Power Mac G4s, gives users the ultimate DVD creation studio–right on their desk.”
To add motion video to the DVD’s menu buttons or background, users simply drag and drop iMovies™ or QuickTime® files into the iDVD 2 interface. iDVD 2 also allows users to:
• create DVDs based on Apple’s professionally-designed themes, featuring motion backgrounds and menus, that assist in the layout and organization of the DVD project;
• take advantage of Mac OS X’s multitasking power to simultaneously encode the DVD, even as the project is being built;
• create DVDs that include up to 90 minutes of material;
• create slide shows of their favorite digital photos, accompanied by music; and
• record DVDs with a single click on the Power Mac™ G4’s revolutionary SuperDrive combination CD-RW/DVD-R drive.
