from Alan: My fondest Christmas memories are when I was a child. We were never well off as children so never expecting things. If we recieved anything we were all grateful expecially at Christmas. I rmember this one Christmas when I was 7, I went to bed on Christmas Eve and I remember going to my friends house. He showed me all his presents around the tree. I thought all the time that he was very lucky. I told him I didn't think I'd be getting anything this years as my mam hasn't any money. He said that Father Christmas would bring me some presents. I went to bed that night and said a prayer: "please Santa, if you can't bring me any presents please bring my mam one". I went to sleep and I remember waking up very early. I thought I'd heard something in my room. I went back to sleep. When Christmas morning came I opened my eyes and I was filled with so much joy. Ther, on my shelf was one present. I couldn't contain my joy. I knew it was from Father Christmas! And it was something I had asked for that night!. It was customary to go down stairs to watch my favorite movie: "Scrooge." I so loved that film and to top everything off it snowed like crazy. I asked my mam if Santa brought her anything. She said "he brought me you.". At the time I didn't understand but now I do. My happiest Christmas ever. |
